Wedding panic

I've ordered this dress for a wedding in a month m.coast-stores.com/p/floral-stripe-millana-dress/1575698 The 16 wouldn't close due to excessive norkage so hoping the 18 does. I can't believe I'm wearing an 18, but too late for worrying about that now. So, can anyone advise on accessories please? I was thinking black pointy with heels (clearly not a shoe expert) but looking at the photo on the website the model is wearing silver shoes - would those be better? I'm 5ft3. Thanks for any advice. Also any recommendations on upper arm exercises would be welcomed :)

Love the dress, but think black shoes would be too much black, especially for a wedding. Could you wear brighter shoes/bag to give a pop of colour?

Definitely not black shoes. I'd probably go silver, but you could go for a pop of colour, like hot pink or cobalt blue (with a clutch bag in the same colour). You could potentially get away with nudes as well but I wouldn't.

Upper arm exercises: tricep dips and tricep kickbacks always sort me out Smile

I'd go with the teal colour in the dress for shoes and a silver / grey / pewter bag. What cover up do you have in mind?

I'd go for bright shoes like yellow, bright pink, turquoise etc with a matching bag or pashmina/bolero to lift it a bit.

Looks like there's lilac in the dress as well as teal?

I agree with pps and would go for bright shoes/bag/pashmina to add a pop of colour. Black shoes with that predominantly black dress is going to look a bit morbid for a wedding!

That looks like just black and white to me unless my eyes are going funny.

The link isn't working but I think you mean these. They're very silver but they would work.

You think too silver? To be honest I don't think I could walk in them anyway Blush

I certainly couldn't walk in them! Am always amazed when people can TBH.

Is there colour in the print? There's a lilac like this one I thought. Both are still pretty high (to my mind) though.

Honestly, shoes in an eye-catching colour or design can make a huge difference to an outfit. One of my very favourite outfits for work before I stopped wearing heels as much was a conservative black dress or skirt and shirt, but with brightly coloured heels. I got so many compliments.

Looking again, I do see colour in your dress. Will see if I can find some links for you.

Really like that first John lewis link, and love the lilac ones too. Coming round to the idea that bright colour will set the outfit off better, plus I like my legs/ankles ok so I guess it it makes sense to draw attention to them. Ok. Shopping tomorrow!

I need bag to match the shoes / same colour, right? Also, I can't manage a pashmina, I would feel awkward but would a tiny cardigan / shrug that's just basically arms be ok? I mentioned the norkage issue, the shrug would have to be black, I couldn't draw attention in that direction.

I recently bought these in red for a 'do' and they look amazing on....

You could then add some colour with a clutch, lippy etc
