A bit pricey for clarks!

Are these not just identical to hamble oaks???? I was shocked at the price difference

Someone has bought and reviewed them. I have a few pairs of hamble oaks and wouldn't pay that price even with a leather sole!

I think they're part of their heritage collection and handmade in England hence the price.

Well yes that would probably explain it. All the same, I think its the dearest clarks I have ever seen.

I'd have thought that most people in the market for a £300 pair of shoes wouldn't be looking in Clarks. That said, they are lovely.

Well when I looked up at the price I thought it was a mistake as they look pretty much like my brogues [ hamble oak] two three tone ones that I got as a bargain in January for £25!!! I mean will anyone be looking that closely at them to notice they are actually the heritage collection and cost £300. Maybe the orangey ones [as the colour is quite different] but the silver ones and the two tone ones look like hamble oaks!

I agree burnishedsilver DH would spend that on a pair of brogues but he has his chosen brands already and I can't see him branching out into Clarks! Although maybe I'm being unfair and he would.

neveradullmoment99 what I've learnt from beingforcedto listening to DH, handmade is a whole other story. Everything will be hand stiched together and the leather soles will also be handstitched onto the upper of the shoe rather than glued. Seems mad to me but DH does have shoes he wears regularly (at least 2 or 3 times a week) that are over 6 years old and have only been resoled once for a cost of £90. So if you're prepared to a) pay that much and b) look after them I think it does work out quite cost effectively. I have never managed to get past the initial cost myself!!!

I get far too fed up with certain styles. I quite like changing my looks often so it would never be cost effective for me really or perhaps for women in general. I do have a pair of Joseph cheaney lace up boots that were £££ and are beautifully made. They are just so comfortable and i know i will keep them forever. They are brogue boots from Toast and were the dearest boots i have ever bought so maybe there is hope for me yet!!!

Cheaney actually made some of the Clarks made in England shoes.
