Has anyone successfully banished chin spots?

I'm forever plagued with them, age 41. I've tried different make up, cleansers, creams, changed my diet etc. but seem destined to have a pimply chin forever. Is there anything a doctor might prescribe does anyone know? Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi pipbin, thanks dingbats haven't tried that one. How long did it take to work may I ask? Do you think it was topical for you then? I'm beginning to think my spots are caused by something within.

Search for dr Sam bunting. I started following her advice about 18 months ago and my skins is so much better. I use cetaphil gentle cleanser and la Roche posay efficlar duo or efficlar k with cetaphil moisturiser when needed.

I've also found cutting out dairy made a big difference. No cystic spots on chin since I went dairy free. I've been dairy free off and on for about 4 years but cut it out completely about 2 years ago. I can tolerate the odd bit of cheese here and there.

Thanks putaplaster, I don't actually have much dairy but I'll try cutting it out completely. I heard it could be gluten related so I cut that out but to no great effect. In wondering if I need antibiotic gel to sort it out and then I can start afresh. Maybe it's an infection that's never cleared. Always guessing...

It took about a week.
I too thought they were hormonal/crap skin/diet related but nope.
Recently suggested it to my husband as his forehead had broken out after wearing a hat for several days running. His forehead is also much happier now.

I had a spotty chin and neck. I bloody hated it. I think mine were caused by a combination of stress/hormones/hair conditioner/gunk in pores.

I picked up the cheapest cleanser in our local chemist, which happened to be this stuff and now I use it every day. It smells a bit weird, metallic almost, but my skin is clear and looks healthier than it ever has. I don't actually remember the last time I had an outbreak.

Worth a try?

I had a problem with the deep spots on my chin that wouldn't go. I did get antibiotic cream from the doctors eventually and they cleared straight away so potentially was an infection that I just couldn't get rid of. Still not perfect but so much better..

I've suffered for years, I'm 50 now!

Last year I started using the Clearasil Rapid Action pads for spots. You use them after cleansing, wipe over the spots then leave to dry.
I then put on a smearing of Sudacream, which someone on here recommended. The change has been amazing. I had redness all over my chin, it's now almost completely gone.
I also decided to go without make up as much as possible, so as soon as I get home all make up comes off, I think that's helped too.

Also I've converted both dds to sudacreme for spots. They saw the difference in my skin and so now both use it.

You can't cleanse spots away (although you do have to cleanse properly), you need the right kind of active product.

Her videos explain it all. My acne has disappeared.

I believe chin spots are hormonal too. I'm 39 and peri menopausal, mine have completely gone since I started taking agnus castus daily. Took a few months. Added bonus is that I am no longer alternately livid/in tears. Bloody love those pills.

I use soap and glory facial scrub for large pores followed by peaches and clean cleanser every morning, with just the cleanser in the evening. You could use the scrub in the evening instead, I just find it smoothes my skin and makes it glow before putting makeup on.

I then use the soap and glory lotion for combination skin twice a day and the soap and glory self heating mask once a week and I use sudocream on any breakouts, which I had a few to begin with as the soap and glory cleaned out my pores. I don't have cystic acne any more, no more sebaceous filaments, no more oily blocked pores on my chin and my skin feels fresh, tingling and glowing after I wash it

I also had success with cutting out dairy. I've been plagued with spots on my chin and shoulders since my teens (I'm 46). I cut out all dairy a year ago and apart from an occasional hormonal one I have clear skin.

You used to be able to by it over the counter at any chemist but it's now a lot harder to get hold of - I've no idea why.

This is what I have been using nightly since my mum bought me this over a year ago from HK (about £10 there). It's kept my adult acne at bay and I'm now using my second bar. Here's a blurb that I found on the net -

Other members of the family given this, but I think they didn't really get on with it as it was so drying. Whereas I felt it too initally after 3 applications, my face was used to it (no stinging or drying).

If anyone's interested, I went to the doctor about the spots and he said I have roseacea. He prescribed me oral antibiotics and, almost a week in, my skin's beginning to clear up!

Hydrate afterwards.

The bha is very gentle and effective.

Try some retinol... Proven to get rid of acne. But needs prescribing so you need to find yourself an aesthetic practitioner X

I tried the roche posey effacular duo and my dr prescribed benzoyl peroxide. Both worked wonders.
