Dress for summer wedding in italy

Going to a wedding in northern Italy in a couple of months. I fancy wearing a (nice!) maxi dress and sparkly sandals because I can't be faffed with heels and nude rights in hot weather (not happy enough with my legs to go bare).

I was thinking of something like this, and dressing it up with jewellery and sparky flat sandals. Is it wedding-worthy? Top half is jersey but bottom half is georgette so delicate and flowy.

It's a good plan. If you love that dress go for it but there are 'better' dresses to be had.

Is it synthetic? I think you'd have to be careful it wasn't one of sweaty synthetics. Some are fine though, IME.

Definitely willing to be pointed in the direction of better maxi dresses! I am 'well endowed' in the boob department and don't suit high necks /can't do strapless. Am also not exactly a stick - post baby body is still a 16/18 so have to be careful. I need to try that one on to satisfy my curiosity.

Good point about sweaty fabrics.

Those are Viscose which I get on better with than Polyester, as a general rule.

That's lovely OP. Get a wide brimmed hat to go with it. Where's it from? I've got an over seas wedding at the end of May and still hav not got anything Sad

You'll regret it if you don't, I fear.
It's just too good. Grumph.

Ach, you can't have everything. Really.

Thanks for the links! The biba and Alicia temperley dresses are very not me - too much of a statement! But the other two are definitely worth a look. The FC one is beautiful but I fear I might not squeeze into the biggest size Sad

Not a maxi but a good length to hide legs

Thanks mini. Dress 1 is nice, the other two definitely wouldn't work for me - high neck is a no no!

I like the dress the OP posted, I don't normally like maxi dresses as they billow out from under the bust and I don't normally do floaty.

I think it is chic and perfect for a wedding teamed with some gorgeous sunglasses for when you are outside sipping prosecco.

Get it.

OP where is it from?

It's from studio 8, I've only recently come across them trying to find something to wear for this wedding - it's a plus size range so only starts at 16 (or maybe 14 I can't remember) but I'm hoping that means the cut will actually flatter a fuller figure, which I need!

If it's Italy, I suspect everyone else (female) will be in full on gowns.

It's not Italians getting married; everyone is travelling from the UK.
