Help!!!! Dsil is having a mods and rockers themed party for her 50th and we are under strict instructions to dress in theme.
I am a little bit younger than Dsil Wink and don't have a clue what to wear.

any suggestions please.... I'm 5ftish and a size 16, and if its at all possible I'd quite like to get something I could wear again....

thanks in advance

Rocker is dead easy. Black jeans, black top and accessories. Big 80s hair

Mod is tougher as its a lot of peter pan collars and high necks. If you're a 16 and you're like me then this makes your boobs look awful.

For the Mod look: Monochrome - so black suit with flashes of white (shirt, socks) and a pork pie hat. Or you could wear a checked button-down shirt. Or a more 90s take on it, so Fred Perry shirt, cords, trainers.

It's quite specific, really, I reckon the Rocker look is easier to replicate (leathers, basically).

X-post with troll, it would definitely be easier to be a mod if you were all elfin/pixie-ish.

I'm definitely not all elfin/pixieish Yoko.....thinking rocker might be the way to go

Rocker is definitely more 'fancy dress' and you can have more fun with hair and makeup

rocker

Either with pleather leggings or black, pair of boots or heels. Big statement necklace and hair.

sorry can't get link to work. It was an ASOS dress, black & white ziz zag stripe '60s shift dress'. For make up use black eyeliner and pale lipstick.

You could interpret "Rocker" as "Rock'n'Roll" and go for the 50s dress and petticoat look. See the thread on 50s Burlesque for some ideas, LindyBop, Hell Bunny, TigerMilly, etc. This might suit a size 16 and could be worn again.

Plus DH can go for the Grease/John Travolta look (slicked back hair, turned up jeans and biker jacket) - dead easy.

I love the mod look, but I'm a short size 16 too and couldn't pull off the gamine mini skirt look. What might work is more of a beatnik mod look, black leggings, black and white striped Breton tshirt dress or jumper dress, ballet flats, lots of eye liner and pale lipstick.
