Make up for sweaty face

I need to make over my make up. I don't normally wear much but I want to update my basics. I've got small dark eyes and mascara usually smudges horribly. Any recommendations for mascara and eyeliner that will stay put? Also I'm very sweaty. And usually by the time I arrive at work I've sweated my make up off. Any recommendations for foundation/powder or something that will last? Many thanks!

I hear that tube mascara works well, although I've not tried it. I currently use a max factor waterproof mascara which seems to do the job.

Foundation I've found most tricky. Clinique used to do "work out makeup" that was fabulous and stayed put all day. But it was discontinued and I've never found anything quite as good.

Mascara - try a tubing one as suggested above, Estée Lauder do one, Doublewear, but there are cheaper alternatives. They don't give much oomph so if you want drama you might want to use another mascara underneath. Or Clarins do a waterproof topcoat you can use over any mascara.

Face - are you using a primer? The Smashbox ones are very good. Powder-wise I really rate the By Terry one, which is expensive but lasts forever.

Possibly a rude question, so apologies, but is your face definitely sweating or is it oily? If it's sweating - and not because you cycle to work, for example - can your GP help? If it's oily then sorting out your skincare would probably help before looking at makeup.

I've not had much luck with tubing mascaras and sweating/teary eyes. Usually finding that old fashioned waterproof is better.

Maybelline do a great eyeliner that stays put. It's a twist up very fine stick inside a bright green plastic pen. I used to always end up with eyeliner stripe print halfway up my lid but not with this magic liner thingie.

No decent advice on the sweat sorry. I've found layering mineral powders etc just made it worse and claggy looking.

I second Maybelline for water proof mascara. Soap and Glory mascara has great staying power too.

For foundation, would obviously reccommend powder foundation but I have oily skin and am still looking for a perfect match on that front. I have just started using a tea tree product from The Body Shop that stops your face getting as greasy, I am finding that is working well and is helpful.

Charlotte Tilbury eyeliner. It's almost impossible to remove! Smile
