3 occasions 1 dress?

MrsSimonNeil · 06/04/2016 21:34

Help please, I have 3 occasions coming up, a ball, a wedding and the wedding party the following week. Ideally one dress will do for all occasions. I'm not really a dress person, happy in my skinny jeans usually. Im 5ft5 and a suze 10-12. I don't do heels so shoe suggestions would also be very welcome!

The ball is a school fundraiser at the local golf club
The wedding is a low key affair in the cotswolds
The party is in London the following week not sure on the venue yet

I'd say my budget is £150 or there abouts

Thanks

Is the wedding party the 'attached' to the wedding, as it were, or are we talking two separate weddings?

I think I'd get probably somethign along the lines of this or this for the ball and the party. Then along the lines of this for the wedding. Not over budget either.

Maybe something like these shoes for both?

This is quite nice / hard to do ball & wedding in one frock though!

No, it's one wedding

I'm not sure about a maxi dress, they feel too dressy for me. I know balls and weddings are the time to get dressed up, thank you for the suggestions though

I like this one www.frenchconnection.com/product/woman+collections+dresses/71FYI/Siena+Lace+Midi+Tea+Dress.htm?clr=ff3c00

But the model is 5ft9.5 which would make it way to long on me

Mmm, tricky. You could theoretically do all 3 on one simple, plain navy dress but you;d need to spend half the budget accessorising it 2 or 3 ways. Easier to spend that on a second garment really, to my mind.

x post. That's nice. You might like this too then.

What kind of bust do you have? That French Connection one would only look good on a flat chest I think.

If you are happy slightly challenging the dress code of all 3 'do's', I love this

You may be right, I might need two dresses.

Lizzie, not flat chested. I'm a 32DD

This is lovely. And a school fundraiser ball isn't likely to have too strict a dress code, so it might be fine for it.

I think you do. Or a indeed jumpsuit which would work well for a ball but still be able to be relaxed enough for a party, I'd think. More so than a cocktail dress anyway. Easier with flats too actually.

Or you could maybe go for an amazing midi skirt, with a plain top?

Here

Not keen on the FC ones, this one is nice and I think suitable for all three occasions.

That's great Remus, love it. But something striking with the same crowd twice in two weeks? One day do and one evening do? I'm not sure I'd be comfortable.

I mean, I would I if I didn;t have the budget, no question. Would acessorise differntly somehow. Borrow bits. THe OP does have the budget though.

I agree with PPs that 2 cheaper things might be better than one expensive one tbh.

Midi skirt and plain top for the ball and the party, with a dress for the wedding.

There were will be very few people at the wedding and the party, and Tbh I don't know any of them so I'm not bothered about wearing the same outfit to both

I love that skirt remus, that is probably a look that I could pull off. I would prefer to spend a little less on a skirt as I'd have to get a top to go with it.

I've definitely got some inspiration, thank you. I'd never have thought of a skirt
