Or the other company (can't remember the name!) I think there are two who offer a bag repair/touch up service just wonder if anyone has used and would recommend?

I have a couple of nice bags that I have half ruined with leaky water bottles/pens/leather marked/general geubbiness just wondering if it's worth spending the money?

Yes, I used one (cant remember which) sent my bag off by post as the handles were coming unstitched.

It came back with different (but toning) patches of leather over the bottom two inches of the handles. looked utterly bizzare and ammeturish. Cost £50. Wish i hadnt bothered. Why they didnt just stitch it up i'll never know. Its a gamble.

The Handbag Spa are the absolute best - I've used them loads, they've got biro out of Mulberry and they do an amazing re-shape service which makes your bag looks like brand new. Website is //www.TheHandbagSpa.com

I've just had a bag returned from being transformed at the handbag spa, I'm delighted with results. It was pale grey, denim dye transferred & I tried to clean it myself. Big mistake, ruined it. The handbag spa dyed it black & it looks amazing.

I sent my bag in for cleaning and it was a complete waste of time and money. The bag came back looking exactly the same and to make matters worse was smelling if damp. I complained to them and they offered to reclean which I refused. I don't trust them at all because I was shocked how such a seemingly professional company can do such a dodgy job. Would not recommend at all unless it's for a bag that is in a very bad state and you don't have much to lose. Please think twice before you send any new or very expensive bag, you might end up regretting

am I reading this wrong, Judy did you really just identify a customer and try to engage directly in response to her experience?

Hi all,

The Handbag Spa have been in touch and have asked us to post up a statement on their behalf, it is as follows:

Due to the nature of the post regarding the service received from The Handbag Spa we wanted the opportunity to respond to give a balanced view of the situation.

We are always very concerned to hear that customers are unhappy with any part of our service and are happy to work with the customer to resolve any issues.

The handbag was sent to us in a very dirty condition for our standard cleaning package.

The cleaning processes was carried out as requested.

It was explained to the customer that not all stains can be removed from fabrics particularly when they are of unknown origin but that the cleaning process would remove as much as possible.

We have offered on many occasions to take the bag back in to see if we can improve on some of the staining with more specialist stain removal products but this has been refused.

We are still happy to carry out further work free of charge with free collection and return.

I used The Handbag Spa for a pale coloured Mulberry shoulder bag. I was wearing a blue East batik dress without having washed it first, as I didn't bother reading the instructions. The dye came out all over the bag. I sent it by post. Handbag Spa got rid of the dye and it was as good as new. I am taking a black Mulberry Bayswater to them tomorrow to sort out the splits on the piping -somI will keep you posted. This time I am taking it to one of their branches in London.

I've heard very good things about The Handbag Spa from a few people, weren't they on Dragons Den?

Hello, although this thread is old I thought I would jump on to warn people from using The Handbag Spa. I have had the most awful experience over the last 7 months having sent my Mulberry Bayswater to them for repair. Not only was the bag returned in arguably worse condition than it went in (I am sure they would claim otherwise but I have photos to prove it) but their manner of dealing with my complaint has been most upsetting - very defensive and at times unpleasant. Finally, they had my bag for over 5 months in total. Please beware and do not trust them with your treasured bags.

I found this company online and I wish I had read the reviews before sending my £2000 Chanel Handbag to them to be cleaned! Not only did they initially ask for £90 to clean it they then requested a further £80 to colour restore it (plus an extortionate amount to return it considering what I paid to send it to them, insured and tracked) I have had to chase them at every step of the process, sending numerous emails that were not returned and following up with phone calls. After being promised it would be back by 7th-14th Jan and then again was told (after sending numerous emails and making phone calls) that it would be sent out on 18th January and when I still hadn’t received it I began to get worried which is when I read their online reviews, which made me even more worried, I finally received the bag at the beginning of February.
The bag looks exactly the same colour as when I sent it to them, they have colour restored it to the same dirty colour it was when I sent it, they did not colour match from the inside where there was no wear, and the strap is still filthy and looks as though no cleaning has taken place, they did say it may need colour restore but they would let me know, they did not. I did ask for a partial refund as I feel I have had very poor value for money, £170 for a terrible service, in both the finished product and their customer service, however all I got back was arrogant defensive emails saying they had done what was paid for!
I also notice online they are in liquidation which does not surprise me.
I would avoid this cowboy set-up with a barge pole!

SCAMMERS!!!! I send THBS my bag and got an email that they have it and after one month contacted them to ask when they are going to send my bag back, and was told that they don't have my bag and that they've confused it with somebody else's bag and here I started panic - it is a very expensive bag! Long story short, after a few days UK post office send my bag back, because nobody bothered to get it from there and I consider myself lucky that at least I got my bag back at the same condition, BUT they promised to refund my order since I've never get any services from them and after my few attempts to contact them they've just stop answering my emails.
Total damage: $70 for international shipping and $340 THBS pocketed with no services.

I used the Handbag Spa to fix my husband's Mulberry. I had fantastic customer service from them and was delighted with the result. I thought they were fab.

Worst handbag spa ever. Ruined my Chanel lait minaudière worth over 5000 usd. Didn’t refund a dime. I posted review on Ig today after several emails to them , they blocked me! Never give your bag to these unprofessional people.

I used the Handbag Spa in Kings Rd London. An absolute nightmare. Do not use them! My LV went for a zip change - I just wanted a clean looking one. Not only have they replaced the dirty zip with an equally brown looking one instead of a white one, but also bleached the pattern on the outside of the bag. The staff admitted the damage, but I can't get a resolution from the company for the last 3 months.
