Sapphire ring or diamond studs?

I have a major birthday coming up and my lovely DH is going to get me a piece of jewellery. Would you choose a sapphire and diamond ring or a pair of diamond studs? Budget is around £3k

Earrings with a screw back.
I'd wear them forever.

Lucky You Smile where are you planning looking?

Costco have 1ct in platinum for £2,700 or
0.7carat in white gold for £1,200 (and i'd need the 0.5 carat pair for £560 because I have multiple piercings)
No idea what their diamonds are like though.

Need to leave this under my DH nose, I have a Big Birthday soon too Grin

Ooh congrats on forthcoming birthday Lost and lucky you.

I would definitely go for the diamond studs - they go with everything, I wear mine loads, they aren't worth £3k sadly but I still love them.

Another vote for diamond studs I wear mine all the time, have had them for years and still love them.

Diamond studs every time. Never overdone, always appropriate.

I'd go for the ring. With earrings everybody sees them but you. My rings make me smile everytime I look at them.

Ring! I have a sapphire ring and I love it - people comment on it all the time when I wear it and it feels so special. I think diamond studs could easily be perceived as not real as there are such good imitations these days. Also very easily lost Shock

I’ve just spent ages online looking at rings Grin

Diamond studs if you are not someone who loses earrings....,
If it was me I'd buy both on that budget but would go antique and get better value

Ring.
Everyone and his dog has diamond studs, including me. They're easy to replicate with CZ anyway.

I have both. My rings are too expensive to wear every day but I'm happy wearing the studs every day even though they are the same price. Confused

I would get studs.

Earrings definately, and if you know what you are looking for it is pretty obvious to spot cz!
I love mine, have had them for 20years now, and wear every day. I had a friend who couldnt understand how i would dare to wear mine every day, but i dont see the point in having something if you arent going to wear it.

To add, i would see how you feel wearing screw backs, as i couldnt get on with them at all, i found them very uncomfortable, but my earrings are quite heavy though.

If you can get up to the Birmingham Jewellery quarter you will get much, much more for your money. If you kept both fairly modest in size you could get both for that budget! I can recommend Platinum Jewellers and Bicknells

Diamond studs - definitely. I have had some for about 10 years and I wear them so much.

I hate sapphires though, so an easy choice.

I get beyond bored by rings! Also I think sapphire rings can look very dated and mumsy

Go earrings. No need for screw backs. I wear 1 ct in each ear on platinum and have ordinary backs and they are perfectly secure. They are insured for any problems.

I always feel a bit sorry for Kate Middleton having to wear that gopping engagement ring.

She's got access to plenty of other sparkles, to take her mind off it though Wink
