Going away for a city break and would love to recreate this look; already have the jacket and boots but the dress is evading me. ..plenty on the high street but they're mostly sleeveless or with a cap sleeve; I need long or 3/4 sleeves.... It cannot be too dressy or pattern too bright/summery as where I'm going is not that warm; would prefer a blackish background, ideally winter florals..... Oh and high street or London shops.... not much to ask huh? grin. Would be open to perhaps a maxo skirt which I could wear with a black roll neck if unable to find a dress I like. .. Thank you in advance!

Thank you Fox. I like the Miss Selfridge skirt but not sure if it will be a little bit grannish.... ASOS dresses very nice but too dressy; I need it to be a little bit sexy as well so a v neck would be ideal. The last three are lovely but trying to channel cool more than hippy iykwim wink.

Would this dress be more Winter floral?

NoMoreMrRight Fri 25-Mar-16 20:44:34

Thank you both. They're both more demi than maxi; looking for something with a hint of sexiness as well as those might be too demure. ...

These would be perfect were they maxi. ... a little bit sexy with the v neck and more cool than hippy/grungy.

Thank you smile. Love Baukjen, that dress would have been perfect but only size 6 left. ..I'm a 14 ggrrrr.

I never bought anything from Boohoo, how's their quality? Worried that with those prices it might look a bit cheap as I'm looking at a silky fabric. ...

plain dress in a 14...

Blue stars Looks as if it might not be terribly flattering though.
Too Goth?
Lovely but strappy and v expensive Could maybe layer a rollneck over it?

Thank you all for all the suggestions. The Whistles one with had it been with long sleeves (and cheaper! ) would have been perfect. .... not keen on block colours, would prefer a pattern and a 'flowy' material

I have this Whistles skirt and love it, but they don't seem to be doing anything similar now.

Trying to ignore that I'm not tall, you might be though.

Love this but spendy. Have you tried tk maxx? Online is useless but have found good daytime maxi skirts and dresses instore.

More affordable

OP where are those 2 dresses from that you put the pictures on? I really like them.

NoMoreMrRight Fri 25-Mar-16 22:57:53

Thank you, great links! I like the Asos dress but probably not tall enough for their tall range, I could perhaps have it shortened? I'll also have a look at the H&M one; like the pattern but it looks like it could be a little baggy on the top...

Thank you all again smile
