Does anyone do their own acrylic nails at home??

I find it difficult to get to the nail place for my infills, I have considered buying all the stuff and doing it at home myself, but don't know how unrealistic it is?

Has anyone done it/doing it? Do you have to have the drill thing or can you just file them down by hand?

It will take a lot of practice to get right, but yes, it is possible. You don't need an electric file, you can use a coarse file and do it manually, though it's very hard work!

Yes, I do.

Like Peace says, I do it manually but it takes bloody forever! I've given up doing them for everyday now and just do them for special occasions.

I do my own gel polish and that's an absolute doddle. Not so sure about acrylic extensions though.

Thanks ladies I am very tempted as the kits seem quite cheap on eBay, but the brushes on eBay look different and pointy, the ones the professionals use for my nails are more rounded.

If you know where I can get the proper brushes let me know! Smile

It's very difficult, time consuming and they will likely lift quickly and not look good.
Nail extensions are an art and take a lot of training and skill to get good at.
Whatever you do though please don't buy a cheap kit off of eBay. It will almost certainly be MMA acrylic which is a toxic substance that shouldn't be used on nails and will irritate your airways as well as be impossible to soak off. Even ones claiming to be MMA free often aren't on there.

I'm a nail tech, please don't buy a lot of eBay it will most likely be MMA and your nails will seen be ruined! Also without proper training it's likely you will damage your nails beds with improper filing
