I have ladies day at Perth races in May. Now it's not aintree or Cheltenham which is on this week. It's a bit more relaxed but lots of people still make a huge and sometimes completely wrong effort.

If you were going what would you wear? I am size 12 and 5'7. Will be on my feet all day. Don't have to wear a hat.

Julia Roberts races outfit from Pretty Woman is my go to races look.

(Yes I know it was 25 years ago but it's a timeless look)

Im5'9 size ten so not too dissimilar to you either.

Just keep it classy - no excessive cleavage and no bum skimming skirts!

I go racing a lot (I work in the industry). Depending on the weather I either wear a nice dress and jacket with not too high heels, or a smart trouser suit.

Are you going to buy an outfit especially for the day, if so what's your budget? LK Bennett is pretty much my shop of choice for racing attire.

Marking my place cos I'm going to the races in June. I've got the dress (LK Bennett like Cavemum said) but I've no idea how to accessorise. I don't think the Daily Mail will be interested if you keep it classy!

I have the budget for something new. Will look at LK Bennett.

The Daily Mail is only interested in sneering at women who go to Aintree, so you are quite safe.

(Go to Karen Millen for a nice races outfit)

And don't pee in a pint glass and get papped tipping it over the balcony shock

I have just been reading that donkey. Vile!

The DM seems to like women in teetery heels, bare arms and legs with fake tan and goosebumps, short tight skirts, lots of cleavage and make up trowelled on.

If you avoid that look you'll be fine grin
