Day to evening wear. Please help!

I'm going for an afternoon of food and cocktails and staying out for the evening. I haven't a clue on what to wear.

Haven't been for a girls night out for absolutely ages. If it was just the night I would wear a nice dress but I don't want to be over dressed for the afternoon.

Any help please
