Shoes -what do you think?

I really like these shoes but I'm not sure if I can pull them off. I'm mid 30s, size 12, wouldn't exactly call my style highly fashionable but like a bit of colour. I'm a secondary school teacher and would wear them to school possibly with black dresses and red accessories (belt, cardi, necklace) or patterned skirt with red in. Would also wear outside work with jeans or more casual skirt (thinking of my cath kidston mushroom skirt with red in it). They look so comfy and a bit fun to me. I'm just not sure if I'd look really frumpy in them or if I could make them work. They look like something my 5yo DD would wear but somehow this isn't putting me off.

I should add that for some reason I'm only really liking the red ones, they look more fun.

They are def primary school or art/drama teacher shoes so for go it Grin

I do teach a practical subject (hence the need for more practical footwear) but not art or drama, but if it means I look artistic whilst wearing them then I'll go with that :)

They would look frumpy on even the youngest, thinnest, most cool person in the entire world.

I might accept that you could just about get away with them at work if you're a primary teacher, because I know what looking after a load of young children is like, but there is no way they would look 'fun' or 'quirky' in any other setting.

Sorry.

They remind me of the old Clarks sandals I had as a child. I quite like them.

They are terrible. Don't do it.

I'm a bit on the fence about these; at first glance I thought they were hideous, but the more I look at them the more I like them... .

Yep you definitely need to be four years old or teach art to wear these. Wink

Interesting mix. So they're a bit marmite then.

I love them but I love red shoes and have similar shoes already. Go for it! Life is too short for boring shoes Grin

Absolutely awful- even on a 5 year old, sorry.

I love them for their wafty hippy vintage-ness. I'm less sure about the black dress and red accessories though. They're more saying floaty dress and knitwear to me.

They're nice, but I don't like them. If that makes sense.

I love these! I'd buy them in black, and wear them with skirts/dresses and black opaque tights.

I think it totally depends what you wear with them as it would be very easy to end up looking like a five year old or looking frumpy.

I absolutely wouldn't try to 'dress them up'. My SIL has a similar Clark's pair of red shoes and she looks like a nun on holidays wearing them.

FWIW I like them and think they would look really nice on a slim person with a bouncy ponytail, ripped skinny ankle grazer jeans and a hip t-shirt

I have been looking for a pair similar to these for years.
.

I have these Red or Dead ones in tan but really want bright red. I even emailed and asked if the would do red, as they usually do a new colour each year.....I fear I look Nun like in them but just love them
