Big boobs - are the only choices frumpy or slutty?

I'm a 34G and, as all of you with big boobs will know, it's a pain in the arse trying to dress them. So many fashions I can't wear as they'd look ridiculous on me, or are just cut too high in the bust. I've found my own style over the years but sometimes it does get me down. If I wear baggy clothes that hide them, I look fatter than I really am but if I wear more figure hugging clothes or low cut tops then they're more on show. Is there another way...?

I also find that long, slightly flowing skirts or straight leg trousers suit me better as they balance my bust out and stop me looking so top heavy. I like them but they're not particularly fashionable so I do feel a bit frumpy sometimes tbh. I'm not mad keen on Pepperberry either as I find they just make bigger boob versions of current fashions which are actually cut for and suit a completely different body shape.

34G isn't that big. I'm 32GG/H and would only describe myself as moderately busty.

What I have noticed is, where I have to wear a 16 to fit my boobs, rather than a 14, the neckline is cut rather large, which is a pain as I'm constantly checking that I'm not gaping.

With baggier stuff, I find that keeping it neat around the bust and shoulders helps. Look for clothes with bust darts, so there is more room for the bust without necessarily being so nipped in at the waist that it draws more attention to your boobs than you want to. Pepperberry does do that, but I know what you mean about it not necessarily the style you'd want to wear.

If you really are bustier than me, then you're probably not wearing the right bra size. That can make a massive difference to how clothes look.

Style of bra makes a difference, too. Some make me rather pointy and stick out sidewats a bit, which makes clothes strain, while others give me a nice rounded shape.

I actually rarely wear v necks/ scoop anymore which is what I was always told suited as I think it looks frumpy.
I like a boat neck, crew neck etc in a fine knit as opposed to chunky or a cotton with a bit of stretch so clings to your body.
Or off the shoulder slouchy knits also fine knit. Tend to wear these in dark colours with not much pattern.
I try to emphasise my good legs/ small bum ( which I think is a common body shaped with big boobs) with skinny high waisted jeans and short skater style skirts.

I'm quite petite (though not slim) and a 32H. I find that closer fitting tops with skirts for work suit my shape and look better even though my boobs aren't hidden like in baggier tops. I wear skinny jeans and finer knit woollen knits with vest tops underneath.

Agree that the style and shape of bra can make a big difference to how your bust looks. I suit balconies styles best.

If I want to wear a higher neckline dress/top, I wear a Shock-absorber bra. It is way more minimising than anything else and gives an amazingly good outline. I'm an E cup and look about a C in that.

I'm 34G, the rest of me size 10-12. I wear relatively snug fitting Jersey cotton tops with V or scoop necks, as well as off the shoulder slouchy numbers with vests underneath. Rather than long flowy skirts I prefer short, a-line skirts with thick tights and long boots. This is my uniform. Also skinny or straight jeans.

Im not in the least bit "trendy" but I do always look OK and my figure usually looks well-dressed.

I'm pretty sure my bra size is correct, have been measured at Pepperberry and don't have the ' double noob' thing with my bras. I'm a typical apple shape, big boobs and tummy but v slim arms and legs and no bum to speak of!

I was on a date last week and wore a v flattering ( but low cut) wrap dress and the bloke couldn't stop looking at my boobs! I hate it as I'm naturally quite a shy person and don't like drawing attention to myself in this way, prefer to wear clothes that skin the cleavage hence the more floaty stuff.

It can be a bit of a nightmare and how different things look on me and one of my flat chested friends is ridiculous! But I guess you always want what you haven't got. Over the years, I've learned to look for:

• long vest tops (H&M or tall ranges, even thought I'm not tall). These hold everything in and mean you can wear a shorter, often trendier or more flimsy top than you would otherwise. They can also close a too low v neck gap
  
• tops with a bit more room in them without being tent like. This is quite a good example, although viscose can shrink and put you back to square one
  
• only fine knits, layered, never anything chunky or ribbed
  
• preferably cardigans rather than jumpers to break up the bust line
  
• shoes which balance out the top half - so say chunky calf or knee length boots, rather than necessarily having to wear flared trousers/skirts, or sparkly sandals to draw the eye downwards
  
• fitted, bra sized swimwear
  
• obviously a really good fitted bra, and getting rid of them when they start to sag, as they will with all the pressure!
  
• whether you can get away with a neckline depends on more than just your bust - length of neck, broadness of shoulders, cut/fit of the item. The only thing I'd say a large bust never suits is a polo/roll neck, although even then a necklace can sometimes be overlaid to break things up
  
• no shirts or blouses, I just don't bother. Even Pepperberry's just seem to shout 'look at my bust!'
  
• mid weight, decent sized scarves are great for spring to camouflage a large bust and creating an optical illusion
  
• nothing double breasted and coats and jackets with extra room (if people say something fits too loosely on a review, I try it!)

Lago yes I agree with a lot of what you say, I do wear cardis quite a bit and I even like the waterfall ones as they skim my bust and give me a lovely long line. I know a lot of pp on here hate them but I don't care!

How do you wear your scarves?

I am apple shaped - either a 34H or 36G depending on bra make/style.

I wear a lot of skinny jeans, long line vests and thin knit v-neck jumpers. Often with a scarf. I also wear scoop neck jersey tops - if too low I wear a vest underneath. I also wear vests under wrap tops or anything that would be too low for day wear.

In the summer I wear a line knee length skirts with t-shirts (v-neck) or a vest top.

Me legs are OK as is my bum so try to focus on that if I can.

If I wear something that isn't v neck or scoop neck then I wear a long pendant necklace so that I get a v effect.

Yes I don't worry about being trendy as such, got enough to worry about with dressing my bust! I often just drape a scarf over myself, here's a (headless!) pic. Open blazer is another of my tricks!

I think very fitted tops are the best way to dress when you have big boobs. Last night I had on a tight black polo neck with a black leather skirt and kept getting asked if I'd lost weight...actually I've banged on a good few pounds but in comparison to the boobs the rest of me looked smaller! I don't think it looks slutty to wear tight clothes, not a fan of OTT cleavage usually though!

I would love to wear shirts more but it's so hard to get one to fit and I have been victim to the wrong button pinging open which can be pretty embarassing....

I am 30FF and find that loosely fitted v necks and scoop necks do work the best but I always wear a vest underneath to cover my cleavage. That way you still get the slimming shape for your boobs but without giving everyone an eyeful.

I also wear scarves in spring and that always works well to disguise the boobiness. I wear them as in pp picture above but also with the corner draped across the front and the ends handing out either side - will try and post a pic

Long cardis also help to slim the profile and finding a bra that pushes your boobs together and forward rather than squishes them sideways is also another trick of mine

They are the bras that have a kind of sling shape sewn into the cup which becomes the material for the straps. So it hoiks from the sides and up. Sorry not explaining well again will see if I can find a pic to illustrate. I like Freya and panache brands for this

Ok this is an extreme example but I have this bra and it gives a nice streamlined shape. So the side material turns into the strap like a sling. Normally the sling shape is just around the sides of the boobs and doesn't extend all the way to the middle like this one does

Lambzig - H&M also do a long sleeved top like that in a very light cotton knit. It works well over camisoles/vest tops.

MizK are you another polo neck wearing heretic? I am fairly well endowed (32F I think) and used to wear black polo necks a lot. Then took advice on board and went for V and scoop necks.

Recently bought a couple of black fine knit roll necks to go with knee length skirts. Unalloyed vote of confidence from DH, and I felt much more comfortable in them. Is it the fine knit and the black that does it? And of course decent bras underneath - got a few recently and it makes a heck of a difference.

Have you found pepperberry yet? They do tops and dresses sized to fit different sized boobs! It's brilliant. I can actually buy a normal sized top rather than having to go up a size or two to fit my boobs and then find it not fitting my waist.

I think the primness of the neckline does it for me. Cancels out the potentially saucy clinginess 😀

I wear polo necks too! (32FF). But I don't think I've worn a button down shirt in easily 15 years. Ditto jackets. For me, I think the most important things are a well fitted bra and posture. I remember thinking at school that if I stooped my boobs looked smaller. But if your posture is good, then your shoulders help to shape your body well if that makes sense.
