I'm sure it didn't, but it seems like it did. One day, I just noticed it.

Is it the same for you?

I feel like my baby took all the elastic out of my skin, face and body! Everything's a bit more affected by gravity now

??
Yes, I suddenly went from people always thinking I was much younger to "wtf where did all these laughter lines come from?". Not sure if it was just turning 36,7,8 that did it or having my first baby

Hummmm yes, don't get ID'd anymore

I will turn 38 this year so it's probably our age !

It happened to me at 37/38. I'd got through the baby years relatively unscathed but after a stressful time at work and adding an extension to our house, I feel like my looks have seriously faded Sad So now I sornx s fortune on skincare and fantasise about getting fillers.

I'm also 37!

So I guess 37/38 is the magic number, huh?

For me it was between 36 and 38 after second baby (who didn't sleep through the night for 3 years). My skin lost elasticity and has a lot more spider veins and open pores than before. Also the odd chin hair turned into a veritable beard Sad. 41 now and a good skin care regime and a lot more sleep has stabilised things for the time being but I would say I definitely look my age.

I've just turned 36 and have a 8 month old baby and feel like I've suddenly aged. I hate it! What's been helping loads is using a Slendertone face. It's tightened up my facial muscles & I've definitely been looking fresher.

Slendertone face? Do I need this?

Had babies at 39 and 41. I look every inch my age, having gotten away with early/mid thirties for ages.

I'm just so tired. My eyes are red and my skin is dry and I don't even know anymore if creams fix that. I need a year of sleep.

It happened to me at 42. During the course of one very very stressful year, my entire body aged about 5 years. If I look at a photo of me at 41 and another one at 43 the difference is really striking.

Stress and worry.

I looked good at 37!!!! I think i really noticed things for me about 2/3 years ago. I am 48. It was primarily my neck. My face still looks good and I dont have much to complain about on that front. From time to time I can have dark circles under my eyes and I never ever had that!!! Its my neck started of looking 'baggy' and is now turning crepey daily. I think its a mixture of late pregnancies and weight gain and weight loss more than age. Its just all happened there. It depresses me as there is nothing that really helps :( The only thing to have any impact is nivea or astral at night and in the morning but it is only temporary. I suppose I have to accept this is who I am now.

The Slendertone is great (have no affiliation with them!). It's 20 mins a day so I use mine when I'm in bed reading. It has definitely toned my lower jaw up really well and that was starting to sag.

Definite yes to 37/38 being the "magic" age! Up to a couple of years ago, I definitely passed for late 20s. Now, I definitely look my age. I don't mind. I've got laughter lines round my eyes and the two "11" grooves between my eyebrows and I've also noticed looking a bit "jowly".

on the plus side, my actual skin is fab and far better than in my 20s when I was plagued by spots. I've got a good routine now which is age-appropriate and have found make up that flatters. It's not all bad - I get regularly complimented on my "glow"!! (Maybe they think I'm preggers Grin)

OMG, me- and it's happened in the last month! It's all in the bits under my eyes. I've had dark circles all my life, but suddenly on top of the circles my skin is like an elephant's. And make-up makes it worse, not better. I've spent about half of the last fortnight staring mournfully into the mirror while stretching it all out back into normality. I've replaced my eye cream, ditched eye make-up remover in favour of plain sweet almond oil (surprisingly effective), changed to a richer cleanser and cut down on toner frequency. If it doesn't work I might cry.

its my pores, they have grown with age and I just cant get that healthy shiny youthful glow to last any longer than 15 secs after a hot bath/shower. tis depressing.

For me it was slightly droopy jowls and hooded eyelids that appeared overnight. Been using Nuface (very good) lightstim and taking lots of supplements. Can see an improvement.

37 for me to, I put it down to the cumulative effect of several years of really quite relentless stress but maybe 37 was just my 'wall' age?

41 was the tipping point for me. Went from passing for early 30s to all jowly and crepey necked. The speed of the decline has slowed though, if that is any consolation.

Am thinking about having acupuncture to perk everything up, if I can find someone who knows what they are doing.

I reckon tv/movies give a distorted view too, as ALL women have botox and fillers, nobody has 11s or wrinkles... Or foreheads that move.

You really notice it when you see women in their 40s in "old" movies (pre 1990 ish)

I probably do look pretty old but fortunately in denial almost 50. I had very, very hooded eye lids and had plastic surgery on them. They were beginning to hangover my eyes, my mum was the same. I was dead against facelifts but when I got talking to the women who had them done it was amazing. I had to remind myself I was talking to older women as it had knocked years off them. I wouldn't consider I as apart from my eyes I am not bothered about anything else.

Oh wow...This thread has made me feel better - definitely an age thing. I'm 36 and recently have noticed that I look really bloody old. I am definitely wearing my middle aged face, rather than a youthful one.

I had children in my early twenties and it didn't really affect me looks wise, I always looked really youthful - was still getting ID'd in my early thirties. Then I had another baby when I was 35 and it all went massively downhill.

I've also noticed it in some of my same age friends recently - infact I can't get over how old we all look.

I guess it's a defining age - when you completely lose your youthfulness and look more wizened/weathered.

Doesn't help that my 13 year old daughter is absolutely Cara Delevingne type beautiful and I feel absolutely hideous standing next to her !

I have been drinking 3 litres of water a day and using alpha hydrox and various expensive face creams to try and aid the aging. I guess it's helping, but I definitely won't ever be asked for ID again.
