Kipling bags - frumpy or not?

Thoughts?

I have seen these on QVC and quite fancied one.

Looking for a day bag, with space for perhaps a book /tablet, water etc. So nothing huge.

I have seen a back pack on sale at a price I am more prepared to pay.

Just can't decide if they are a bit old lady. (I am quite old though)

Are those the ones with a little gorilla hanging out of them?

They've always baffled me.

It's a monkey. Inspired by Rudyard Kipling

I have several, they are great for when I go shopping as they are lightweight, hold a decent amount and are highly water resistant. I think they are ideal for day to day use and more practical than my every expensive leather/designer bags.

no, they're great. I've got one which I use for aeroplanes and then it becomes holiday bag, plus a great little rucsac which is really useful on days out.

I have the firefly n. It's small but holds loads including iPad, a Kipling huge purse thing that I use as a pencil case (and the middle but for tamped), a5 book and lots more.
I've tried putting all that in other bags and it seems heavy compared to the Kipling.
I don't care if they are fashionable or not. It's lightweight and washable.

To those that have them, do you use them for laptops? looking for something to carry my Mac air around and although it's small, it's not quiet small for the firefly n

DD has one too. Very lightweight (until she puts her books in it!).

They are definately practical and hardwearing but i only use mine as a nappy bag. Wouldnt have one as a regular bag.

I have several and think they're really practical for day to day and cadual holiday wear. There is a massive rang to choose from, many more quirky than frumpy. And I always detach the monkey.
Wouldn't wear for smart or smart casual in town, though.

Unlike my Longchamp Pliages, which are really versatile.

Frumpy. Overpriced frump at that.

They are frumpalicious and should be worn with a cagoule and spare sandwich in a plastic bag.

Not my thing, always thought they were a bit tacky but I'm a classic bashed brown bag fiend.

I've got 2 and a purse, I love them. I bought them in the US last year so alot cheaper than here, I wouldn't pay full price for one.

I love mine and couldn't give a monkies if people think they're frumpy.

The best bit is the key fob bit - I can always find my front door key in my Kipling bags. Every time I switch to other bags I'm back to a Kipling in a day or 2 as I can't find anything.

Absolutely agree on internal key fob point - so useful. Wish others did this.

I like mine and don't give a toss if people think they are frumpy. I struggle to carry heavy leather bags, and the Kiplings are really light. I've got three now, after a friend finally convinced me to try one. The purses and pencil cases are really good too.

Frumpy or not dont buy it on QVC unless you've done a price comparison - Amazon usually sell them discounted although it's usually the wackier colour ways that are discounted

I've got 3, all from eBay. Light, washable, great for ordinary use. My leather satchels now feel too heavy.

A varied response then ;)

Yes, will check out ebay etc . The one i liked was reduced from £76 down to £45. I wouldn't have paid full price for it - but they are strong bags.

It will be nice for my holidays and summer in general.
