Acid toners- can anyone link to a routine?

Follow Caroline Hirons blog I fancied trying this. So I've been using pixi glow tonic but tbh doesn't do much for my skin. So bought the pixi glycolic pads and after 5 nites seem ok but have a few more spots than usual., could be hormonal though. But still waiting for my complexion to suddenly become amazing!!?? Am I expecting too much? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Have you read CH's routine cheat sheet? www.carolinehirons.com/2013/06/routines-cheat-sheet.html

What cleanser are you using first?

I have about 6 different ones (1 I got in a beauty box, 1 in a gift set at Christmas) and it was a bit hit and miss to see which ones were irritating my skin.

Did you just jump straight in with the acid? When I started I did one night on, one night off to start with.

I love the Pixi pads but I don't use them nightly - just a couple of times a week or when I remember. Overusing acids can be counterproductive and irritating, so I'd ease off a bit tbh.

When I first got the Bravura toner I used it every night for a week or so and it triggered small red blemishes that lasted a day, not angry spots but clearly visible. Cutting back got rid of them completely.

Thank you. I think I maybe have used them too much. Have looked at the cheat sheet. Thankyou.

Skin renews itself every 28 days or so. You would have to wait around a month or 2 to see improvements.

The pixi glow tonic is not an exfoliator. The ph is too high for the acids to work. It is metely a toner to bring your skin ph down after using high ph cleansers. This helps to protect your moisture barrier.

Don't know what the ph of the pads is so cannot comment on those. maybe is right about over exfoliation. If you use acids too much it damages the moisture barrier which creates breakouts.
