Bobbi Brown recommendations please?

I have some cash to spend next Thursday when in Town.

I don't want a foundation as I use double wear light and I am quite happy with that. I do need:

Concealer
Something to brighten my under eyes/skin in general.
Mascara
Blusher
Eye liner - not black
Eye shadow

Anything in particular you recommend? Mid 40s. Thanks

I have the longwear eyeliner pencil in smoke, a kind of lighter black. I'm very pleased with it. Goes on smoothly and smudges well.

Their blusher is lovely. I have tawny which is a really good natural shade.

Don't bother if you are pink toned. Everything oxidises and turns yellow on me. I also think Bobbi brown quality has gone downhill.

I like their blusher. Being pale, their peach shade is one of the only ones that looks natural on me. It lasts for ages - about 6-9 months using it daily.

I like the gel eyeliner (as a crayon not in a pot) but was disappointed with the sades a little. I have Smoke (dark grey) and have just bought the one called violet/ purple black but it really looks almost black and not the same as on the website.

Eye shadows are good quality and last for ages too. I've got cement, wheat, grey and bone - all matte. I use them as eyebrow powder as well.

Not so sure about the mascara- was given a sample ages back and not impressed- didn't have enough volume for me but since then they have brought out a new one.

Oh- and the creamy concealer is great. Might not work for you if you have oily skin - they can sell it to you with a little pot of powder to set it.

They have a lovely watery gel eye cream, and their concealer is very good.

Another vote for the long wear eye pencil. I have a great mascara from there but it's so overused all the lettering had rubbed off! I think it was the smudge proof.

I have:

  • Intense Serum corrector and concealer - love them, they really do the job and are easy to use and blend
  • Eye brightener - for light-makeup days, also really like
  • Gel eyeliners, have a few and really like them. I have steel grey (?), ivy and a brown one
  • A shimmer brick, which I like if I need some brightening. Have had the brightening face powder before which is great but pricey
  • A couple of cream eye shadows in neutral colours, which I use as a base every day and stay all day; plus a couple of their limited-edition palettes which I also use daily

I would recommend all those. Especially the corrector/concealer, and cream eye shadows.

I have used their mascara and it's fine but I have used better. And I have some pot rouge but then discovered Nars.

Also my foundation and powder are BB, I keep trying others but always come back for foundation...

Oh and lipsticks, have several of those

Get them to do your make up for you, go away for a little while and think, then go back and buy your favourite products. I've done this more than once, and they've been so friendly and helpful. Enjoy your day Smile
