29 crepes a leaping.......

Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

It's lovely MM.

Vexed with my progeny. I know they are/have been unwell but their rooms are strewn with clean/dirty laundry and the little one just said 'you do not have permission to go In my room. Wanted to bite off her head but instead have put my 16kg kettle bell against my door (its only use) and am trying to decompress calmly)

Are you rati g tour words this month Magi?

Report
Stropperella · 10/02/2016 19:53

Well done, Magi. I am a big wuss and don't like starting threads in case, um, someone shouts at me or something.

For those not on FB - dd passed her driving test! First time! After about 15 lessons and having junked her first driving instructor and got herself a new one about 3 weeks ago, just for 3 lessons. She took the test in my car. Dh did, I have to say, sterling (step-)dad service and had taken her driving quite a lot, despite her being more than somewhat difficult. And he took her to the test centre this morning, which was interesting, as she hadn't bothered to find out where it was. She drove in the general direction of the test centre and he had to keep jumping out of the car every couple of mins to ask people where it was (happened 3 times). The test pass just goes to show what dd can do when she can be arsed. Or possibly it's the ADs kicking in. I suspect a bit of both.

She told none of her friends that she was taking the test, so they are all v impressed.

I am in a wee bit of trouble for the FB pic, despite having cleared the posting with her beforehand, as it is apparently the worse pic of her in the world, ever. This only became an issue when she realised I had tagged her so her friends could see it. Grin However, I have had texts from several of my friends to say how nice it is to see her smiling. :)

It suits us just fine MM!

Would like to meet up with the Crepeys on 12th March .... but I can't do lunchtime only drinks / dinner pm and pleeeease (if dinner) could we make it somewhere a bit more central?

Thanks MM for doing the honours...

Well done MM for starting the new thread!

Stone me. That was meant to be 'eating your words' MM

Stropps, that's a great effort on dd and dh's part.

CointreauVersial · 10/02/2016 20:16

That's great news, Strops. Will she step up to the plate with regards to errands (supermarket, school run....) now she's road-legal?? You can but hope....

Sad news from Chateau Cointreau; just found stiff body of Tiny Hamster. Sad She was nearly two-and-a-half, though, which is good going for a Russian Dwarf. And none of the painful (and pricy) decline of Chubby Hamster. Actually, this is probably the first pet I/we have had that has died of natural causes, and not by vet/fox. Farewell, Pepper, we'll miss you.

Thank you Mm for the thread.

Well done to Dd and DH, Stropps. Hope she is feeling proud.

Tulse Hill Hotel is my local. Smile it is actually v easy to get to from the north as Tulse hill on St Pancras line. However, happy to be central. Lunchtime difficult for me though because of chauffeur duties. Perhaps we southerners can do a THH meet another time.

Am catching up on bake off fr last week. Jennifer Saunders looks bloody good. Do you think she's had work? She looks same as she did in F and S all those years ago. Can't believe it's not live on because of football.

First day of Lent and no processed meat for me for next 40 odd days. Am also trying to avoid booze at home. We will see.

Checking in onto new thread. Thank you MM.

Well done to mini Stropps on driving test. She looks lovely in the photo - I cannot think for the life of me what is wrong with it. At least she has a nice natural smile and not a duck pout.

My DD1 did well on her telephone interview and is invited to the assessment centre next week. I can't quite believe this is for a holiday job! Meanwhile, she has another interview tomorrow with a very high powered company but I'm not sure if it's a little too high powered. All good experience though.

BTM - when I left DD1, she spent only two nights at home as I had a good friend who kept and eye open and lives nearby. She went there pretty sharpish for a good meal and bed and then, as I mentioned she stayed at BF's a couple of nights after she slipped a disc.

I have had my bottom braces put on - supposedly this is the home stretch but I also have elastics on the back teeth so it takes about 10 minutes to clean them and it is impossible to eat. I think I may finally lose my apple tummy.

I'd be delighted if we meet somewhere central, and for dinner. I'd prefer somewhere near the Northern or District Lines, not weirdo lines with long gaps between trains.

Lovely title, thanks for the new thread....how come we always get to 1001 posts now. Is this a 'new' thing?

Well done, Miss Stropps and she looks fantastic, happy and proud in her photo. As dh said 'when they can drive, they still get into trouble, just further away!' Smile I hope she's got a better idea of geography than dd1, who used to offer to pick up friends left right and centre and then go to parties hours and hours away. No wonder that the insurance company, who fitted telematics on her little car, gave her NO discount after three months declaring that she did NOT 'drive like a girl'.....

Sorry about hammy, CV. We have had a heart warming week with stupid dog who has been introduced to Cannicross. Last Sunday, ds ran 9k with him up the hills and down again. I'm off to get the equipment tomorrow! Boinging lead and harnesses all round.

I'm free to come on the 12th, but must admit would love to be in town a bit more so I can grab an exhibition or a shop we don't have down here! Don't mind where, or what cuisine. Tapas maybe?

MollyGrin What lines would they be?

DD and bf are looking for accommodation in the resortShock I would be amazed if they find anything.

Report

I suspect Molly means the line I am currently sitting on.

Collymollypuff · 10/02/2016 22:04

I so wanted to do Cannicross with ddog but he is too bonkers. Respect to you and dh, Beachy.

Re driving: big advantages - they can't drink and drive; and they won't be so likely to get into a car with a less responsible driver iyswim. Like a stoopid young speed freak who drives into trees.

Tapas is always good for me.

Stropps Well done to DD - and what a change up - so please dto hear that news.

Sorry about the hamster, CV.

If I were going to pluck my courage up & come to a MU it would have to be lunchtime for me. But I don't think I can make that March one, so ignore the previous sentence.

You don't need courage! You just need Brass Neck.

Report
Collymollypuff · 11/02/2016 00:52

You don't actually need Brass Neck either - I just got a bit fixated on the phrase [wtf does it mean? Where does it come from?] and wanted to use it in a sentence. Blush I was thinking that an element of bravado is needed when you first go to a MU, tru dat.
