Major shopping splurge today. Make me feel better!

BIG shopping trip today, lots of lovely new things - I got 3 cardigans and 6 tops, all good materials (cotton etc, no polyester etc) for £250, and a coat for £120. As much as I have lovely new things I can't help but feel so guilty for my splurge! I usually buy rubbish from new look and h and m every now and again so I am proud of myself for sticking to my plan of trying to just buy very good quality things that I really really like...

Can anyone make me feel less guilty?!

Lots in the sales and bad discount cards too :) I guess its like £25 each which I'd easily pay for a rubbish "fashion" syntheitc item in new look. Whereas these are classier (I hope!) Just never bought sooooo much before!!!

Finally bought a gorgeously fabulous but v expensive by my standards waterproof, insulated coat after years of buying rubbish cheap ones.

I've been SO cold and soggy on the school run of late I decided enough was enough. It was more than £200 but I know it'll last years...still feel guilty though!

I shop like this. My rationale is that I don't often have time to enjoy shopping so need to make the most of each trip, If stuff is good value/reduced then it makes sense to stock up and also if i buy a few variants of the same thing (e.g. 3 cardigans) then each one will last longer

It sounds useful and good value. I'd not feel bad about that at all, unless I couldn't afford it! As long as you'll still have money to pay your bills and feed your kids I reckon you're fine :)

my dd and i spent 4k$$ on sunday- 1dress , 4 pairs of dress pants, 5 gorgeous tops. The dress was on sale and since the pants weren't , we got alterations for free.

Wearing my new top today so pretty! I think I feel bad because one purchase was a £60 top which I like but don't LOVE. But I guess I can return it or see if I like it more soon! I think you're right, I do go shopping a lot but actually rarely buy anything, I was by myself yesterday and just determined to shop!!

Yeah no don't feel guilty - you got a lot very cheaply! A splurge is when you spend something daft like £300 on a scarf not that I would ever do that

Hi mrsvilliers the coat is the North Face Arctic one, I'm hoping it does all the things it claims...! I ordered it from Amazon, it's £350 on the North Face website and I paid £215 which is a lot for me, but hoping it's a worthwhile investment.

I've been coveting one for months and sod's law, I ordered it yesterday and today the sun shines! Am sure I'll get plenty of wear though.

Ooh, my guilt was assuaged a little after scooping two pairs of combat trousers for DS which were labelled as £14 and came up at £2 each in Tesco!!

I have mass shopping splurges because I can go for months without buying anything new and suddenly I realise I need to renew parts of my wardrobe so although it seems excessive it really isn't just a necessary joy

I shop like this too - plan exactly what I need and then spend £200-300 in one go, but I buy good quality stuff that I have planned for. It sounds like all good quality stuff that you will wear a lot so sounds like a good result to me

I think it sounds all very good value OP. £120 certainly isn't over the odds for a coat you'll get a lot of use from. Where were they from or did you mean you got them in several different stores?
