I have had these for ages but never worn them as they don't seem to 'go' with anything. I've tried them with black opaques but it didn't look right at all. So which tights?

herecomesthsun Sat 06-Feb-16 19:06:37

well those ones look black! I have these in black and wear them with black opaques

Behooven Sat 06-Feb-16 19:11:32

They are a really deep ruby, seen alone they look so dark but against black tights the red really comes out.

herecomesthsun Sat 06-Feb-16 19:17:55

Dark brown, or a similar very dark red?

TrojanWhore Sat 06-Feb-16 19:34:40

They're very 1970/80s Sloane Ranger.

Either matching dark tights, or a nude sort of shade.

Plus naice skirt, pie frill blouse, Laura Ashley lamb wool jumper, puffa or husky. And of course pearls.

Behooven Sat 06-Feb-16 23:02:20

<clutches pearls> <digs out the pie frill blouse>

I wear with pencil skirts for work. I like a block heel, and have to negotiate mud on my way in, it wipes off patent.

Navy tights? Maybe with a full, short skater skirt.

Black tailored trousers. Fishnet pop socks

The problem is in the first line of your post .

Sorry . Charity shop them .

dark oxblood shoes go with everything!!!! I have a pair of hamble oaks in a dark oxblood colour. They look fine with black opaques. If you think it looks a little odd then wear a shearer black tight - maybe 60 denier. They will look fine smile

1981 called it wants Miss Muxlow's shoes back.

Behooven Sun 07-Feb-16 19:12:59

herecomesthsun Sun 07-Feb-16 19:37:16

Twinklestein Sun 07-Feb-16 22:52:33

My RE teacher.

Behooven Sun 07-Feb-16 23:15:53're still at school - that makes sense

Kr1stina Sun 07-Feb-16 23:18:54

Behooven - we are saving your from yourself wink

Twinklestein Sun 07-Feb-16 23:32:43

Miss Muxlow was my RE teacher in 1981 for those at the back.

OP, you've been warned.

I love these.
Can you wear 3/4 length culottes?
Long wide legged trousers.
off duty what about boyfriend jeans or peg trousers

burnishedsilver Mon 08-Feb-16 10:07:35

A few ideas...

Floisme Mon 08-Feb-16 13:46:04

They're too high for me personally but I like them, especially Ronald's and Burnished's sugestions.

So what if they have sloaney/schoolteacher connotations? That's how fashion works. I like it when an old look is re-invented, makes me smile.

LadyPriggsbottom Mon 08-Feb-16 14:03:28

I didn't say previously as you didn't ask in op, but I really like them.

Behooven Mon 08-Feb-16 17:57:38

Thanks, they are very comfortable even thought they're higher than normal for me..
