Dehydrated skin - which foundation would be best?

I'm in the market for a new foundation fairly soon and am considering going a bit more upmarket. I usually use Rimmel which is fine but after a bit of Lisa Eldridge-related research, I'm interested in these:

Chanel Vitalumiere
Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturising Balm
Lancome Photogenic Lumessence
NARS Sheer Glow

Please feel free to recommend others that you have had success with

My main skin 'issues' are fine dehydration lines around eyes, dark circles under eyes and a bit of redness around nose and on chin. I'm looking for medium coverage, definitely nothing mask-like or cakey, dewy finish and a fairly high SPF. Budget up to £40 for the right product

I've not tried those ones, but I have the same problem with dehydration that you do and love Chanel Les Beiges. Good coverage (I also get a little redness), nice and glowy, lasts all day and wears really well.

I haven't tried the Nars Sheer Glow, but would like to.
Armani Luminous Silk foundation is really nice with a great colour range. No SPF, but I think realistically you need to layer a separate SPF in any case.
Nars Radiant tinted moisturiser (SPF 30) is lovely, quite light coverage.
I find using a primer helps with avoiding that settling into fine lines.

Go for Chanel! Avoid Estée Lauder Doublewear like the plague.

I changed from EL which made my already dry complexion look stressed vintage (the cracks!) to Chanel Vitalumiere by MN recommendation. I opted for the compact but my oh my the difference

Have you tried Touche Eclat Foundation? Better on me than Vitalumiere.

Touche eclat foundation, on me, us not medium coverage. It's light. But it is dewy.

I found Nars sheer glow excellent. I really didn't like Chanel vitalumiere Aqua but it didn't help that I couldn't get a get a good colour match. I would definitely recommend sheer glow though, good coverage, didn't cake or sit in lines etc.

I have the BB balm. It's ok but the coverage is really light. Which can be a good thing if that's what you're after and on a day to day basis (on my dry skin) it's fine.

Personally I prefer (and use more often) the Bobbi serum foundation. It's very luminous and moisturising and not at all cakey.

You can sheer it out with moisturiser (or serum) for a light coverage, apply as is for medium coverage, or build it up in layers for a strong coverage.

I'd certainly recommend you try it if you are passing a Bobbi counter.

(I've also got channel VA, Charlotte Tilbury light wonder, bare minerals liquid and the BB serum one is still my "go to").

Nars sheer glow is lovely, good coverage but looks natural and dewy, and doesn't highlight crows feet like EL.

Thanks folks. Looks like big thumbs up for Chanel and NARS. I may go for Chanel because I have nearly £20 on my advantage card so would get it for less than half price in Boots

If you're going to Boots anyway, I'd recommend going to see a few make up counters and getting some samples. Different foundations suit different people.

Lott, To redeem your advantage card points, I think you have to have enough to pay for the entire item. I don't think you can part pay for an item using points. That's how it always was in Boots, but it may have changed recently.

If day absolutely try before you buy - also I think you can't pay partly with points in Boots, you have to have enough to pay in full

I have dehydrated skin and use Too Faced Born This Way. I thought it might be a bit young for mid 30s me but it's absolutely lovely. I have freckles and it gives lovely dewey coverage, very buildable and natural

Ysl touché éclat lovely if you a bit dehydrated.

I use mine with a touch of bobby brown corrector on my dark circles.

They are doing samples of their new blend at the moment also.

Oh how annoying about the Boots points! Superdrug let you use your points as part of a payment, don't know why Boots can't do the same. Thanks for letting me know though
