Eczema and dry sore patches on my 4 year olds face

Can anyone recommend a cream for this please? Aveeno makes it worse!

We use La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume for dd but it really is trial and error with eczema.

I was actually thinking about trying that thanks, have used the Avene cicaplast which didn't seem to make any diff so might try the lrp one.

Vaseline or sudocrem can help too. I apply as a thin mask before bed

I use Aveeno body lotion on my 3yo, my GP recommended it.

Plain oats tied in a little bag in the bath too

Go to your GP about eczema on a face. You can get a referral to a dermatologist. We did this with our ds when he was a baby, as we worried about scarring and the effects of steroids. His skin is now perfect, apart from the odd teenage spot. Also emollients on prescription are free.

I did say in my original post aveeno makes it worse for him but thanks.
Been to gp it's not bad enough for a referral and he said aveeno but as above it makes it worse on him

I don't think it's right for a GP to say it's not severe enough.

Your child may become worse.

If you can afford a private appt then insist on a referral. But in any case, your GP could offer hydrocortisone 0.5% to be used sparingly and they also ought to offer emollients like Diprobase.

We just pushed for a referral a lot. Diprobase is great. Hopefully he will grow out of it.

Maybe try for your referral via a health visitor. once we saw the specialist she admitted that GP's could be reluctant to refer or issue prescription creams. Worth a try.
