Wrinkly face, smokers lines- help!!

I look old and haggered, I watched Star Wars and my face looks like Maz the little alien woman!
My skin is dry and I have deep horrible smokers lines (never smoked but waxed top lip for years and was too late by the time I realised it was causing lines).
I've had a lot of silly sun exposure/sun beds in my youth. We used to hire sun beds at uni in the early 90's with no idea of the effect it would have in our 40's, oh how I wish I could go back and tell my younger self not to be so silly.
I really need advice as to how I can improve things? I think fillers to the smokers lines may be the only solution but could also do with advice on helping with my dry skin. I've tried various oils and creams (currently in eve lom) but things are just getting worse!
I'm just 40 but feel about 60 and it's getting me down.
Help!!!!

Eek! Waxing causes wrinkles?! I didn't realise and I've been waxing for yearsSad

In order of importance I suggest the following:

  1. Sunscreen. Apply religiously every day. Even if you aren't going out. (Make sure you have a cleanser that can effectively remove it. Oil based cleansers are best for this).
  2. Hydrating products eg. Serums. Wrinkles look worse with dehydrated skin. Glycerin and hyaluronic acid ingredients are your best friends here. Layer several hydrating products with a face mist in between if necessary.
  3. Seal it all in with a good moisturiser. (Use a heavy moisturiser at night - Vaseline as a sleeping pack is also really good at keeping all the moisture in)
  4. Use a retinoid (pm) and vit c serum (am). These are the only things that will reverse damage. Skinceuticals is probably the best brand for these but £££! If you are getting fillers for deep lines (no products will get rid of those) you could see if they will prescribe you retin a.
  5. Once your skin can tolerate retinoids you can give your skin a boost with AHAs. Glycolic acid will help.

Fillers and Botox if you're up to it, and it's in your price range, if you do your research there are some very good clinics at reasonable prices. They make a huge difference as long as you don't go overboard.

Alongside this work on a good skin care plan, the Caroline Hirons threads are a good place to start.

That's amazing mint biscuit, thank you! I don't know where to start with getting fillers but I think it's the only option
