invisalign anyone?

Anyone used Invisalign? I have appointment soon and am obviously doing some research but not that much around. I think my issue would be classed as overcrowding, just need to stop front two teeth looking more proud than rest.

My 17 yo had it, to straighten out and give more room to his bottom front teeth. While they were at it they straightened the top ones, too. He now has a 'Tom Cruise' smile to be proud of.

It's taken over two years of changing masks every two weeks and dentist visits every two or three months. He only took them off for eating and playing the trumpet (main reason for choosing Invisalign instead of train tracks) and he found it annoying that he couldn't bite through thin stuff like ham because there was such a gap between his front top and bottom teeth!

Now he's closing the gap by only wearing the last mask every second night and after 3 months he'll have a maintenance set of toothguards, to keep the good work in place.

Quite frankly if the work hadn't been covered by DH's private health insurance we probably wouldn't have paid for it ourselves. DS's teeth were strong and healthy already. Now they're filmstar straight, too!

Yes I have just finished treatment at age 38. I have beautiful teeth now and I feel its taken years off my face. I only regret not doing it years earlier. 2nd best investment ever after laser treatment for eyes.

As you age. Your front two teeth only get so worse. I had terrible rabbit teeth and one of them had to be rotated nearly 30degrees! Honestly go for it. You won't regret it.

How much have people paid for them? I know a girl who was quoted 8k probably because she is 18 with my parents have money practically tattooed on her forehead!

Mine were £2,500.

I had 25ish aligners iirc.

€4,000 spread over two years, but private dentists in the UK would probably charge that AND MORE in GB£.

I had it done a number of years ago for my top teeth. It has worked v well. I do have a permanent bar in place, but that is standard I think.

I can't remember the cost but I think about £2500.

It was pretty much invisible when on.

If it's just your front teeth then also look at Inman aligner. Brilliant for me. Took 16 weeks.

I've got my first trays in at the moment, get my second set next week.

I only have to wear them for 7 months so get them taken off in June- I'm so excited to see what my new smile will look like!

They honestly are invisible! Go for it. Mine was pricey though £4,000 for top and bottom (and I didn't even really need bottom, my bottom teeth are perfectly straight :cries: but my top teeth can't move back where they need to be as at the moment my bottom teeth are preventing them from moving, so they need to be moved too!)

A friend did it and it was the worst bloody faff as she had soooo many dental appointments. Plus she was constantly fed up with the eating aspect.
From family of dentists and there is some discussion on the fact the teeth are being moved back and forward constantly, as opposed to having a fixed brace. Something about loosening the teeth.

DD is coming to the end of her treatment, moving one canine back into place (failed "train-tracks", her fault, long story!)
It has cost about £2500 and she is very happy with the results.

I chose a fixed brace (top only) with enamel coloured tabs rather than Invisilign for my snaggly teeth because it was cheaper and I didn't like the thought of faffing about taking them out every time I wanted to eat and drink. Just a few months in and I'm delighted. I was quoted over £5,000 for Invisilign a couple of years ago and the treatment would have involved invasive filing etc which I was keen to avoid. My current treatment is costing £1900 and will take approx 11 months to complete. The fixed brace barely shows, invisble in photos not that it matters anyway.
