Where do fat women shop?

I need grown up wardrobe staples that suit a very very wobbly pear shaped size 16/18 ideally online.

I don't want sparkles or high fashion just quality, value clothes that don't fall to pieces.

Asda do some great, smart panel dresses and tailored suits, going up to a 22/24. I live in their dresses for work, usually at about £18-£22 each. Their bras are great too

Yours is also worth a look for nice tops if you avoid the polyester stuff and stick with the viscose and cotton stuff. Their tailoring isn't up to much but they do nice tunic/leggings/boots combos if you like wearing that kind of thing.

At a 16/18 surely the vast majority of brands will go up to your size?

I'm a size 16, sometimes 18 depending on what item of clothing it is.

I shop in New Look, Primark, George, H&M, Matalan without any issues. Most places go up much, much higher in size than an 18.

I'm not calling anyone fat..... I'm size 16-18 and mine is pretty much all fat. No toned aerobic size 16-18 here it's all jelly.

I haven't been to Next for ages will try there I hadn't thought of it.

Are the Yours clothes good quality?

Most standard shops go up to a size 16/18.

Personally I like New Look, Asos, Next and H and M.

I like Yours but sometimes find the cut of their tops a bit triangular (upside down triangle!) which I don't think it particularly flattering on me personally - I'm very pear shaped and find it just accentuates my bum!

I also buy lots of tops from Primark in a size 20-22 so they hang nice and baggy and then I layer these with vests and t shirts from next as they come down quite long in the body.

I love yours clothing. Nice quality and reasonably priced.
And while yes, most high street shops go up to a 16/18, however I've found they often aren't cut right for the curvier figure... It stands to reason that if you have a size 18 waist you likely have size 18 arse and thighs to match which lots of retailers don't seem to take into account (I'm looking at you river island with your ridiculously tight trousers)

I hate the stuff that starts at a 6 and then they add in panels until it will technically fit but looks a bag spuds.

I think I like yours because they often do a full size sleeve, even on dresses and I've vitiligo so having a full sleeve is easier iykwim
I had a lovely Christmas going dress from there, which had a sheer sleeve

I'm a 16/18 and shop in pretty standard shops like Next, Gap, Dorothy Perkins etc. Having been 3 stone heavier I don't consider myself to be fat anymore, maybe curvy?

I personally avoid 'fat' shops as the clothes have too much fabric in them for my shape even at the smaller sizes. They tend to assume everyone is either very tall or has a huge stomach.

I'm confused though how you think you didn't say a 16/18 is fat when you asked where people that size shop and used the term fat in the same sentence.

I think the OP is saying that she feels fat at 16/18.

Someone who is 5'8" may not feel the same as someone who is 5'1" at the same dress size.
