Work dresses

I need to update my workwear and have brought these 2 dresses which I like as they suit my shape which is tall, size 10-12, wide shoulders, small chest (and low boobs), small waist, rounded belly (where any weight goes), slim bum and legs.

I like Planet dresses but not keen on some of the patterns / colours.

Planet Navy
Planet Black

Because I'm tall I have to be careful with the length as above the knee 'highstreet' can be too short and I look too leggy for work.

Any ideas for a couple more dresses?

Trousers are an option but I have problems finding the right length tops then because my torso is long, hence why I stick to dresses.

I love that navy one - can I ask how low the V neck is? My boobs are under my chin and rather large so I have to be careful of low v necks as often the bottom band of my bra is higher than the bottom of the V

How about this Phase Eight Dress It looks a good length. Not sure if it might be too dressy for work though?

Or this red one from M&S

The black one has a big ruffle bot down the side. I love it but isn't it a bit too dressy for work?

Sorry about the sizes, this one is available in sizes 10 and 12 and I really like it - good length again.

Or this Damsel in a Dress one but it may be too long?

I like that phase eight one little, it showed this one at the bottom when I clicked too, and love the colour phase eight purple

The purple one is lovely!

I like the damsel one but definitely too long - well not my length at all, my skinny ankles and big feet would be the focus!

love this but bank balance won't allow just for work

I just bought this Jasper Conran dress which might fit the bill. It's nicer than it looks online, and has very impressive vanity sizing, who knew I was an 8?!?

I recently bought this www.amazon.co.uk/Austin-Reed-Cornflower-Panel-Detail-x/dp/B00RD6DJPW/ref=sr_1_7?s=clothing&ie=UTF8&qid=1451512593&sr=1-7&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

Which is a little unforgiving on the tummy, but very flattering otherwise, and a good reduction. I think I'm a similar shape to you, though possibly a little bit shorter - it's just above knee length on me.

That's lovely, Sara, what's the sizing like?

I like that Kayne, lovely dress. I like Planet for their sizes, have been a 10 with them for years, and I'm always a 12 everywhere else Wink

just found this phase eight too, but what shoes would you wear with it? I tend to stick to my trusted black or brown ankle boots with most of my dresses and they wouldn't go with this.

Thank you, Kanye - I'd say 'generous-ish' - I'm usually a ten though an 8 at places like Boden and 'posher' brands like Jaeger. I bought an 8 as the ten wasn't fitted enough. Though I kind of wish they did a 9!! That would be perfect Smile

Jaeger has some perfect ones in their sale - huge reductions on a few. Generally they use superior fabric and classic shapes that will not date. They have the me goths of the dresses on the info about each dress (usually) so you know if it is the right length for you. The sale dresses are a bit more than Marks or Phase 8, but have more class!
