What's the best eyeliner?

I want a black eyeliner, I envisage an Adele look to my eyesHmm & my current cheap kohl is not up to the job. Which ones do you use? I'm willing to pay for a decent one but love a bargain recommendation.

For me, Urban Decay ones

Bobbi Brown gel define. It's not a gel, weirdly, but a super silky pencil that also is rolled up/down so you don't have to faff around sharpening it.

Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner (or Max Factor liquid eyeliner now Rimmel no longer do the dark brown colour).

Gel- Estee Lauder doublewear. Pencil-either still waterproof or urban decay 24/7. Liquid, urban decay works for me

Clinique cream shaper for eyes - brilliant and very easy to apply.

I like the sound of the bobbi brown one & the easiness of the Clinique but I could pick up the Rimmel one in my local boots! I'll read some reviews for those, thanks for the recommendations Xmas Smile

I like collection and Maybelline master precise (both felt tip pens). Loreal super liner is supposed to be a dupe for Lancôme. If you want gel liner in a pot, Maybelline is good.

I personally use collection pen in brown as I'm very fair and black looks odd on me. I also tight line the base of my lashes so there's no gaps.

I've been using the Bodyshop Liquid eyeliner for years- can't fault it.

Rimmel. Tried more expensive ones but always went back to Rimmel.

I've tried about ten liquid liners and Lancôme is by far and away the best. (They sell it in boots). It's wet enough to make an impact but enough like a felt tip to add a pretty cat eye. This is it on.

Looking good littlelion I like the idea of a pen. So I now need to read some reviews on the Lancôme, collection & maybelline ones.
I will have Adele eyes before 2015 is out

So a make up artist gave me a tip of one and it's amazing and only cost £4

Having spent a fortune before on all the expensive brands and found them not very good

Go and get the Barry M liquid liner from super drug

Best tip I've ever been given

Rimmel exaggerate waterproof is brilliant

Another vote for Urban Decay.

A cheaper and just as good alternative though is 17 Tattoo Me. It's brilliant, it doesn't shift, it's a fiver and with most of them I end up with smudges on my top lid.

I am not a great make up advisor but I do like the ethics of Bodyshop products and I do use their Liquid eyeliner.

I use the rimmel liquid liner the one with the really fine tip, if in doubt open quickly before buying (I confess I do). I don't like the thicker tipped ones.

Ive tried Channel liquid liner, more than double the cost, and really I saw no difference, plus the bottle dried out within a few months?

Rimmel is so cheap and surprisingly brilliant.

ive heard great things about mac gel liner, but I don't think the gel ones are as dark as the liquid ones.

I have a great Stila one, it just does not budge and it's in a pen, so easy to apply.

Urban decay 24/7 pencil is £15.50 each and they just glide on so beautifully with some lovely colours

Bobbi Brown gel liner that you put on with a brush. I use it quite subtly usually, it hardly smudges, it blends beautifully with other products and and it comes in loads of nice colours, understated and not so understated Grin

hollinhurst84 · 25/12/2015 19:14

Indecisive now you're asking Grin
A mix really. I follow Caroline hirons so basics from that, and foundation is either illamasqua or urban decay plus lots of highlighter
