She's had a few inches lopped off and looks well for it. Face looks younger. How?!

Making me tempted to chop off my own, at the moment its waist length. I'm reluctant to cut my hair because I know it will start going grey one day and will need maintenance....has anybody else cut years off their face through a hair cut?

A friend of mind did. She had long, thick, wavy hair and cut it to just above shoulder-length. It was so fresh and bouncy, took 10 years off her. It just dragged her face down before.

I cut four inches off my hair last week. Mine was not as long as Kate's and I didn't want it to be shorter but my ends had bleach on them and now I have all my own hair colour again. Mine is a long bob now and it's much better. I'm wearing it with a fringe, it even washes well without having to style too much.

If I leave my hair down its unkempt, I'm too big to get away with the waif look....when it's tied up there's nowhere to hide me jowls or whiskers....maybe I should consider a Xmas chop

For ages many wanted Kateto cut her hair, they were sure it would look better, I can't see the improvement at all personally.

It's a bit of a nothing style that's the problem...

Waist length hair is too long imo. It rarely looks styled. Down, it would drag you down but there's too much of it too look well put up. I think a pre Christmas chop is a good idea.

I thought it looked a bit rubbish and was far nicer longer. I know half of mn wanted her to get it cut but I really don't see it

Yes, if I don't get around to getting mine cut and it gets to shoulder length I notice that it's dragging my face down. Cut back to jaw length it's much bouncier and looks much better. Quicker to wash and dry in the mornings too.

I think she looks SO much better at this length.

I think it looked good before, but is still very attractive now and does look fresher.

I think it was much too long and very boring and dated before. It's a bit better now for sure, but could be much better shorter still and with more of a shape and a bit of choppiness.

She's heard us! Shock

Wonder if as we speak she's reaching for the Swarfega for the eyeliner.

I preferred it long. Don't like the fringe detail. She looks a little tired. Is she pregnant again?

Not much of a difference, if anything it makes her look even more generic

Report
polyhymnia · 10/12/2015 12:42

Yes if she could lose the eyeliner and other heavy makeup she really would look years younger.

Report
squoosh · 10/12/2015 12:44

I thinks she'd suit a brighter lipstick. Nude lips don't do her any favours.

Report
LaurieFairyCake · 10/12/2015 12:54

I liked it long because she curled the ends so they waved beautifully

It's now very blunt across and a bit less soft.

She could do with going either shorter, or thinning it a bit so she could turn out the ends

Gosh, I think just the opposite about a bright lipstick! Funny how we all have different takes. Boring if we all thought the same.
IMO, bright lips plus the eyeliner would be really ageing. Was just thinking that at least she's kept her lips more natural looking which is more youthful. (For day to day, anyway - I personally absolutely hate bright lips at any time on anyone but can see there might be a place for them with 'dressed up'outfits, if they suit the wearer's colouring).

Well I think she should break up with her eyeliner and embrace brighter colours on her lips. Not red but something pinky. At the moment her lips just blend into her face.

the most striking thing for me was the lovely smile she appeared to be giving William. Very genuine looking.

I thought she looked the best she had in years yesterday. Happy and confident.

Looking at pictures of the new hair, I barely recognised her. I think it was quite a defining feature.

I bet when she's bored, she takes off the eye liner, puts her hair in a ponytail and walks around London incognito.

The eye liner is ageing. I think she's decided to 'go for eyes or lips and not both' and has stuck with the eyes.

ALL the women in her family do this- mum and sister- it's very ageing on Carol who has tiny deep set eyes to start with.

so there.

Herecomesthesun - kate really does seem to adore William doesn't she?

I thought eyeliner was meant to make your eyes appear larger? Why does it age her, or her mum, sister or anyone else?

Genuine Q, I wear eyeliner, only a small bit on my bottom lids but I like it!
