Has Jo Malone perfume changed for the worse?

I used to love JM Orange Blossom cologne and shower gel and have used them for about 10 years. Recently i noticed the fragrance had got weaker and softer (if that makes sense). I thought perhaps it was just my nose getting used to it, but then I found a stash of stuff I was given a couple of years ago and hidden too well and that older product still has the punchy wow factor I love. I know Estée Lauder now own the company and wonder if they have altered the formula in some way.

My husband is pleased. That's one very expensive habit I won't be indulging in anymore.

I think the quality has gone down, I am mow looking at the Jo Loves range and hope that the longevity that the pre-Estee Lauder used to have she has incorporated into her own new range.

Yes it's definitely weaker scent, nowhere near as long lasting as it used to be. But more expensive.

Was also going to recommend Jo Loves range instead but beaten to it.

Definitely think the longevity of both fragrance and candles has gone downhill recently.

Don't think JM have the special something that made them a cult in their very early days when I used to shop there. Now all a bit high street-y and unsubtle. Just cashing in on its former reputation as an upmarket brand.

Haven't tried Jo Loves yet, though have heard good things, so will check it out sometime. (Though I'm boringly loyal to Annick Goutal and to Clarins' Eau Dynamisante...)

Ues, it's lost its edge imo

The fragrance has no staying power - I love Dark Amber and Ginger Lily but it doesn't last until I'm out the front door.

Hmm not sure about that but somebody gave me a bottle of Blackberry and Bay (their unwanted gift) and it smelled like bad armpits so it was charity shopped...

Unfortunately this is happening with many perfumes not just Jo Malone's.IFRA have banned or restricted many ingredients used in perfumes in the past.Substitutions have been made and some perfumes now smell quite different .Other perfumes are not as badly affected depending on the constituents .For example Nahema perfume is not going to be made any more as it contains a high proportion of a banned substance reputedly. The Eau de Parfum will still be available.

I've just recently bought a bottle of Van Cleef And Arpels California Reverie which I absolutely adore. But the longevity of this bottle made in 2015 is rubbish compared to my sample sadly. Its really very frustrating for perfume lovers.
