Hi all,

I've had a baby five weeks ago and my belly looks absolutely shot. I knowing supposed to find it wonderful but I'm not here to look for suggestions on figuring out the beauty of it - at some level of course I know it's fine.

My issue at the moment is that the skin is extremely dry. And wrinkled like crepe. And I've got the extra skin hanging like an apron under my navel.

Is there a really luxurious body butter you'd recommend for this dry skin? Something rich and nourishing? Christmas is coming and parents and DH will all give me something so I've got some leeway for getting something nice. I have bio oil but it doesn't feel "wet" enough on my skin and just feels like rubbing oil on paper teeth chatters

Also, do any of those supposed belly bands work at all? Probably not. And I'm probably too late at five weeks post partum.

All advice welcome. And I know that beyond a point nothing can be done!

I'm not sure what to recommend. My tummy skin was horrid after both babies but gradually got closer to normal after about 6 months each time I think. I still have a little bit of crepey skin (thanks Thing 2, you were ENORMOUS), but on the whole it looks fine.

I'd just select some nice body cream or lotion that you like the scent of.

I used bio oil and remember that feeling you describe. It does get better - although mine has never fully recovered [sob].

It takes 40 weeks to make a baby
