i tried this on, it was nice. In my head I thought, 'hmmm maybe £80"

as the crackle of acrylic ran through my ears i was OH MY GOD this is £120!

I particularly like the statement:
True to size
Model is 5ft 10 and wearing size small

Blimey.. I'm 5ft 5 so the small would DROWN me confused

Both overpriced for acrylic - that m&s one is having a laugh too at nearly £40 for over 70% acrylic.

BrendaandEddie Mon 23-Nov-15 13:54:04

oh god you are right.
THere is a nice roll neck in there, I saw as i went past, Only one left and size GINORMOUS

Fuck knows. They used to be really good now they're just drab and Bodeny.

I have a black funnel-necked Jigsaw jumper that I bought back in the day when Jigsaw were still good - 100% boiled wool.

I like that the Jigsaw one is described as being a wool blend with a touch of alpaca. It is actually an acrylic/polyester blend with a touch of wool!

BrendaandEddie Mon 23-Nov-15 17:12:27

Totally. It's une rip off

burnishedsilver Mon 23-Nov-15 18:34:34

I dont know but they're not the only ones doing it. There's an epidemic of overpriced acrylic and polyester.

Saw this Zara one and thought of this thread.

GeorginaWorsley Tue 24-Nov-15 20:46:47

I like some stuff in Jigsaw but they have become Whistles alike in ridiculous pricing.
I used to like the Kew shops...smile

whirlybird42 Tue 24-Nov-15 20:48:28

I will not pay good money for anything containing acrylic angry

Higge Tue 24-Nov-15 20:55:10

I have bought lots of things from jigsaw and none of it lasts - it isn't worth investing in - I should know that by now!

ProfGrammaticus Tue 24-Nov-15 20:56:41

Their cavalry twill suits used to to last for years.
It's discontinued now, I think.

RunRabbitRunRabbit Tue 24-Nov-15 20:57:04

Who buys it? I have often wondered, who the hell buys this stuff? Obviously people do or they wouldn't stock it.

UnDeuxTroisCatsSank Tue 24-Nov-15 20:59:54

God that is overpriced.

Naicecuppatea Tue 24-Nov-15 21:31:54

I just hate the squeaky feel of acrylic one when you rub it between your fingers! I check the labels on everything. I did however buy an acrylic scarf yesterday because it was beautiful and every single other scarf was also 100% acrylic.

SushiAndTheBanshees Tue 24-Nov-15 21:42:35

Acrylic - ugh. Hate it. Spent my entire childhood in it. Too hot and sweaty indoors, weave never tight enough to block the draft when outdoors. Loses its shape after two washes. Totally overpriced tat I'm afraid.

BennyPoo Tue 24-Nov-15 23:17:49

I find it a really dull shop, went in the one in Birmingham, was only me and a friend in there apart from the staff, and a woman was doing a survey on the way out? Was so unimpressed I couldn't be bothered to do the survey - although they probably needed the feedback!

Hihellohi Tue 24-Nov-15 23:25:08

Why is the model standing like that, so gormless-ly, it really annoys me! Stand up straight!

Onlyconnect Wed 25-Nov-15 07:05:10

I'm going to disagree with some parts of this thread but will start off agreeing that that jumper and some items in Jigsaw are overpriced, also that some of it just isn't very nice- even a bit odd.
BUT I do like quite a bit of what they sell and I think with the exception of the knits, it lasts really well. I have things from there that I've had for over 10 years. It's certainly me who buys it, I reckon about 60% of my wardrobe comes from there. I find the staff really helpful and enjoy the experience of shopping there which I guess is partly what you're paying for

FrancesOldhamKelsey Wed 25-Nov-15 07:19:32

I think their suiting is excellent, and coats are good too. Haven't bought anything for a few years since they moved my local store but I'm still wearing stuff every day that I bought there between 3 and 13 years ago.

Tops are overpriced though - although I like their double front tops when they're on sale.

ggirl Wed 25-Nov-15 08:13:48

walked past this and nearly picked up for dd xmas , despite wool I think too spendy

Higge Wed 25-Nov-15 08:19:59

My poor experiences were with jersey tops and knitwear - I loved the stuff I bought but despite washing it in the recommended way it shrank.

Higge Wed 25-Nov-15 08:26:04

But this is gorgeous.
