If I said that I think it looks like old sofa cover stitched together would that make you feel any better about not having it? because it really does Wink

Is she wearing it backwards?!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 21/11/2015 21:33

Oh that's so pretty. I too couldn't afford it etc. but am also too old to look right in it.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 21/11/2015 21:44

OMG. She really is wearing it back to front!!

Report
ouryve · 21/11/2015 21:47

I would look exactly like an old patched up sofa in it - assuming that the "16" fits me.

well i've gone right off it now Grin

It is very pretty although the neckline is a little high for me

Back zip Confused

Report
Nettletheelf · 22/11/2015 01:12

It's heinous. Lucky escape, OP.

UnDeuxTroisCatsSank · 22/11/2015 08:45

It's very pretty but a bit too much what with the zip which looks like it could be on the wrong way round, the clashing fabrics etc

I would file it under 'beautiful but only works if you have model proportions'

I do love it, perhaps more so in the darker colour way.

The reviews suggests it difficult to sit down and a straight up and down figure is needed, plus some bra strap angst in them. It's not made of natural fibres and is dry clean only. All reasons to love but not buy it!

ReggaeShark · 22/11/2015 09:49

God it's gorgeous but needs youth and a model figure, of which I have neither.

Report
Fairylea · 22/11/2015 09:56

I think that's absolutely hideous, sorry op! I can't believe it's that much money... It looks like someone ran through primark and grabbed everything as they went and then got home and sewed it all together!

It's a bit too self consciously "kooky". And also difficult to wear.

Massively reduced it might make a great impulse buy for a summer party.

Or perhaps one could put it under a velvet coat with high snakeskin boots for a winter wedding.

Either way it would spend far too much time in rather than out of a wardrobe.

Ahh I love it! It really has split the room!

I think it's absolutely gorgeous.

Twinklestein · 22/11/2015 17:41

I would like it if it weren't for the bizarre zip which slightly ruins it. Wouldn't wear it though.

ProjectPerfect · 22/11/2015 18:32

Don't love it. could work if:

You are

Seeyounearertime · 22/11/2015 18:34

It would be 10000 x nicer if not for that zipper at the front. Confused

Report
Gruach · 22/11/2015 18:50

One thing though, unlike everyone else I actually think it might be rather better on someone who's not skinny. Bodycon dresses always suit rounded body shapes best imo.

Report
Gruach · 22/11/2015 19:57

Except that the first dress is cunningly cut and lined to distract the eye from and hold in any unruly bits of body. The Asos dress is terrifyingly exposing, even the model looks as if she's having to hold in her stomach.

I actually travelled into London to see it yesterday and it looks like it's patched together from brocade curtains

Report
Gruach · 22/11/2015 20:26

Am I the only person in the world who would take a brocade curtains frock rather than skinny jeans and a nice top any day of the week? Even for running out to Tesco. Or queuing at the P.O.

I've spent so long defending this dress today I think I've almost talked myself into liking it ...

(Sorry OP, I have no "off" switch with weird but justifiably expensive dresses.)

I have a brocade dress. 1950s it is lush and very flattering.
The fabric is so bloody thick it would hold anything in.
