I really really need some comfy warm ankle boots - the only ones I can find that even half fit this description are Black Bailey Bow UGGs. But they are FUGLY! Aren't they? Would I be mad to spend £180 on some ugly boots?

I need ankle boot suggestions please !!

I love my half height brown Uggs. Wear them with skinnies and all types of jeans.

Are they worth the price tag? I really like them but don't know if I can justify the price- especially when I'm due DC3 in January!

I ignored Uggs for years then caved and bought a pair of ankle Bailey Buttons last year. They're incredibly comfortable and like wearing outdoor slippers. This year I got some calf length waterproof biker style ones and again they're so warm and comfortable. Not the type of boots to go hill walking in but great for slipping on and slouching around town in.

I have an embarrassing number of chunky comfortable boots Blush Uggs fugly? If they are I think they're such a winter classic now that it doesn't matter, people of all ages wear them around here.

If you're worried about the cost v usefulness balance it may be worth looking at the more water resistant ones for versatility. My Bailey buttons would be useless in anything more than a very quick shower.

I have 5 pairs and absolutely love them, 2 have lasted for years. I'd highly recommend them.

Ahh OP you are a breath of fresh air. Tbh I came here to ask how you could put a question about UGGs onto the style and Beaty board as they do not fit the criteria. But yes the are comfy and practical .

What do you think? I need some opinions before spending so much money!

I love my Uggs. I have had Kensingtons for years and now I get a new pair of biker style waterproof ones every year. And just live in them for the school run, slopping about shopping etc

This year I got these: www.treds.co.uk/product/womens-footwear/boots/ugg-australia/w-chaney/stout-bomber-sbmb/2hyi

And have happily lived in them ever since.

I had a struggle getting them on the first time but soo as my foot slipped in they were great and I havent had to break them in at all. They're been getting easier to get on and off the more I wear them.Very ki d,y sent e a 20% of all shoes and boots which made them a whole lot cheaper.

The ugg bikers are lush I'm very envious.
Uggs have pros and cons
they are incredibly comfy and do last a long time - the soles do not wear down like cheaper imitations. They look great with leggings or skinnies or tights IMO.
However the standard sheepskin boots are not waterproof by any stretch of the imagination and will stain with rainwater even after protector spray.
I've always had uggs but this year I really want something more weatherproof

Posted too soon. They're both shorter than the calf heigh and water resistant or water proof.

I bought the Ugg 'Grandle' waterproof biker boot style from M and M Direct for 90 quid. They are so warm I have to carry a pair of ballet pumps in my handbag for when I go indoors. I love the furry lining and how cosy they are.

Uggs should only be worn indoors as slippers
No to outside horror
