Casual dresses that aren't too short

I'm looking for casual dresses. There is no shortage of them, some very nice, but I don't want them to be too short. I have slim legs, it's not really the legs that are the problem, but I don't want to be walking along having to tug my dress down every few steps. Dresses in all the main high street shops seem to be either long or really really short. Or am I just looking at them on super tall models and actually on 5 foot 4 me they would be ok?

Have you tried Joules or Hobbs?

I'm not terribly keen on Joules and I've seen some beautiful dresses on Hobbs website but they are just too expensive for me.

Have never heard of Joy louche, will have a google, thanks. Smile

Great plains and phase eight are normally fairly good length. Or else try the tall ranges in Next, Topshop, DPs and asos. Asos have loads of nice dresses if you trawl through.

Hi

I know exactly what you mean. In the winter months I tend to wear jeans/trousers myself, however I was in Uniqlo buying some thin thermal socks (they are fab BTW and really work yah) on Thursday and bought myself two plain wool/felt type dresses. One in black and the other in grey that we're only £39.90'each. Three quarter sleeves and not too short. I am only 5ft. Round neck with a hidden zip up the back. Wore it out for lunch yesterday and got lots of compliments, can dress it up with a nice scarf or jewellery.

I will see if I can find a link.

iPad won't let me do a link for some reason but these are the details.

It's called

Women's double jersey 3/4' sleeve dress
item code 153022

It comes in black, grey, navy and green

Looks really short in the picture but it comes to a smidge above my knee but I am 5ft. Really warm as well, didn't need to wear a vest underneath but you could (may also be the mild weather we are having), not itchy also it's a nice shape (hides my tummy which I hate). I am a size 10 but I went for a medium.

I thought for the price it was good value and if I only wear it this winter then for that price I don't mind.
