I know it might seem like we've nothing left to say but I'm sure we have :)

I have to tell you: Seville a l'Aube is on the TK Maxx website for half price - lots of other L'Artisan perfumes but that one is very special and I wore nothing else all summer!

SOTD: Cuir de Russie. Like a fuzzy hug with vague undertones of marauding Cossacks from the 19th century.

TKMaxx also has Penhaligons Elizabethan Rose, Violette and something else I can't remember. €40!! or roundabouts.

SOTD Deep Rose - Montale

Crystal Flowers by Montale is SOTD.I also succumbed to the Tk Maxx perfume page and bought Bois Farine the other day.Its a really curious combination of unsweetened Nutty Cookie Dough plus a woody Sandalwood and Cedar undertone.Seriously interesting and unusually addictive.

I was just looking at that one and wondering if I would like it. Is there tonka bean in it?

SOYD (scent of yesterday because I'm yet to wear anything today) was EL Intuition - such a strange interesting cool oriental. I've discovered that if I'm to do floral, white flowers are my best bet - anything nice in that line for winter? Otherwise I'll just wear Shalimar/Cinnabar etc until next summer! I love Fragonard Soleil (for instance) but to me it's just so summery. I love a stinky idolic jasmine.

Can I join? Smile

Toyed with buying L'artisan from TK Maxx. Narrowed it down to either Mon Numero 10 or Skin on Skin but wasn't convinced enough by reviews of either to blind buy.

SOTD is Armani Cuir Amethyste. It's so in your face and uncompromising and I bloody love it.

I must be in a violet phase at the minute. Have just this second bought Violette Divine by Berdoues. I'm very particular about violet. I don't like powdery old ladyish candied violet. But I do love pure violet amd violet leaf when blended with other heavier notes.

Anyone got any ideas for a new perfume I can wear?

I've been wearing Stella McCartney 9the original one in the purple bottle) for years and need a change.

I err on the side of violet and rosy stuff, but dont want anything heavy. Hate anything musky. Most Chanel perfume makes me feel sick. Ditto Jo Malone. But also can't stand anything 'fresh' and lemony....

Any ideas?

Bulgari Jasmin Noir, Tom Ford Black Orchid? That kind of dark floral.

Also my mum wears Stella McCartney and her other go-to perfume is Coco Mademoiselle - so maybe look at that and the similar orange blossom-y perfumes like JPG Classique and Elie Saab EDP/EDT (EDT is more grapefruity but still quite sweet).

I am wearing Tom Ford Violet Blonde today. It is lovely in the autumn and winter months - like a violet/oriental smell. I've come to the end of the bottle, but I think it has been discontinued. I wish Tom Ford would stop doing this, I used to love Black Orchid Voile de Fleur and that was discontinued a few years ago.

Nutcracker try Malle's Lipstick Rose and L 'Artisan Parfumeur's Drole de Rose. They're both Violet Roses, though Drole de Rose is gentle with Star Anise.Lipstick Rose is the Scent of the old Guerlain lipsticks,(and is a bit of a Femme Fatale Rose)
Also Penhaligon's Elisabethan Rose and Violetta are worth a try.

Tesco direct have Penhaligon Peoneve for £35!!! Didn't even know they did perfume, but tried this perfume in the Penhaligon shop then came home and googled because I'd forgotten to check the price and discovered this absolute bargain.

SOTD is Heeley L'Amandiere - hyacinths in the springtime. Not very seasonal but easy to wear and cheering when it's grey outside.

Reactions to perfume are so individual. I like leather so I thought I would love Cuir de Russie - instead it smelled horrid and soapy. I didn't get any of the luxurious gorgeousness that people find in it, in fact I had to wash it off. On the other hand I adore Knize Ten which many people find too harsh and dry. On me it softens from a very masculine leather (which I like in fact) into suede with an undertow of vanilla - warm and lovely.

I must check out the TK Maxx web site. I've long been thinking about Dzing! and Timbuktu.

I'm currently alternating between 4160 Tuesdays Dark Heart of Old Havana, Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir and Juliet Has A Gun's Vengeance Extreme.

I do like the colder months for perfume as spicy and musky scents work best on me. I'm looking for a perfect Christmas scent for this year, any suggestions?

Nutcrackerslacker I read your post and immediately thought of Lipstick Rose by Frederick Malle - it is absolutely beautiful.

SOTD here is Miller Harris L'Air de Rien. Love this so much.

Envy >> D'zing

Has anyone tried any of the Library of Fragrance (used to be Demeter) available at Boots? I tried a couple - Wet Garden was one (pleasant enough) but they didn't have the whole range. I'm intrigued by the thought of Pipe Tobacco (love, love the smell of pipe tobacco in the tin, not so much when it's being smoked) and Stable.

Oops posted too soon. I have pure soap from that range and it's nice for everyday wear

Can someone please suggest a perfume for me? I'll describe what sort of thing I'm after the best I can. I really need some cheering up Sad

I currently (always have really) use Dior Addict (original), it's in a dark blue bottle? Love it, but I've come to realise it's not an everyday scent. My Summery perfume is an Estée Lauder
one, I think it's called summer flow or something. It smells gorgeous and reminds me of holidays.

I don't want something that will be discontinued at the drop of a hat, like Tom Ford Hmm

Thank you Grin sorry for cheekily butting in!

AuntBess I can't see why Dior Addict isn't an everyday scent, but I would happily wear eg Shalimar every day so I am probably not be best person to judge Grin

I've missed these threads, the dark wet season is perfect for thick ambers and mulchy chypres. I am wearing nothing atm but will root through my drawers when I'm at home!

Maybe I will have a look in TKMaxx - I normally never go in.

Talking of mulchy chypres I got out my sample of Tauer Une Rose Chypree the other day. What a mysterious, amazing scent! Wild rose in a wet forest. As complex as anything I have ever smelled, it fascinates me (though I couldn't wear it every day).
