does anyone platinum blonde at home?

I know I know, pay a professional. I just can't afford it.

I am lusting after platinum blonde. I am currently natural medium blonde and am on the verge of buying the bleach London one to get to platinum. I am armed with icy platinum toner for afterwards and have booked a haircut on thursday to sort any damaged ends. I also have purple shampoo. Am I nuts? Is it possible to get a non brassy blonde at home, a proper platinum?

Either encourage me or completely talk me out of it please. I have wanted platinum for so long! I have quite an edgy style so I think I can pull it off. Any tips?

I'm platinum blonde but never done it at home. But to be honest so long as you use the highest concentration of bleach you can (blue powder you mix up) and then really cool toner the only real problem I foresee is missing patches

I do mine at home, its naturally a sort of dirty blonde (though its years since i've seen it!)

The best bleach imo is bleach london, but i had to use a different one last time i did mine and cant remember what it was bloody called.

Will see if i have a picture :)

I have done loads of research and everyone seems to agree that bleach London is the best. went to boots to get it but my one doesn't stock it. I'm going back to pick it up tomorrow. That's just the colour I'm going for iam. are there any tips you could give me about doing it? I am a complete novice and would rather my hair didn't fall out.

Riding I will be getting dp to inspect the back of my head to make sure it is all covered!

Touch of silver do a really cheap blue shampoo that you leave on for 5 minutes as a toner once a week or so. It's fab-takes my hair back to the colour at the salon with a lovely icy violet hue. Daily I use Charles worthington for platinum hair

I have bought the touch of silver colour care shampoo to use daily, and I have bought the bleach London blue/purple shampoo to use every few days. I also have a icy platinum toner to use when it gets at all brassy. I dont think I am missing anything for maintainence, it's the actual bleaching I'm nervous about!

You must post a hair pic!
I'm naturally dark and it took 2 bleaches and toners in the space of 5 days to get the colour I wanted with no ill effects so even if it isn't perfect you can most likely do it again without your hair falling out. Leave it on for as long as poss and maybe apply heat (hairdryer??) to help along..

I have fried my hair once and had to have it cut short, so i understand the reluctance!!

To do mine, even though its already blonde i use the stronger bleach, and then wrap it up in cling film to cook. Leave it on for about half an hour.

I was until recently but I got sick of doing the roots. I used to be a hairdresser so I've never paid anyone to colour it for me. I used to use Jerome Russell bleach followed by a blue toner and purple shampoo every wash. Hope that helps!

I'm doing it tomorrow night. I'll do a before and after pic :) I don't think it will look amazing until I get it cut on Thursday.

I have ordered two packs as reviews online said it's a bit stingy on the amount, hopefully it will be enough. I have shoulder length hair at the minute. getting this cut on Thursday.

The scarier part is doing the roots when you dont want to damage the bits that are already bleached!

Just looked, the length is a bit yellow still. Will give it 10 more minutes, then rinse. I have toner which should do the rest!
