Whistles dresses?

For a very brief while, Whistles dresses were perfect for my 30 something, biggish boobed,?curvy hipped, shortish, size 12 body. They nipped in at the waist and were low cut enough that I didn't look like I had a sofa cushion strapped to my chest, but without looking like I might flash anyone by mistake. Importantly (for me) they covered up my arms whilst sticking with cuts and patterns that would not be better suited to my mother. In brief, they suited me and I still feel good in my five year old Whistles dress.

Unfortunately, they now all seem to be high necked and/or sleeveless and, whilst I still like the way they fit me and the prints that they do, I do not feel comfortable with how bosommy (sp?) they make me feel, plus sleeveless dresses just make me want to put on a cardigan.

I'm now after a dress for the winter (and future winters) that makes me feel good. It's not for a particular occasion, but would probably get worn once a month or so in autumn/winter or so for the next few years for nights out to restaurants or bars. I'm loyal to dresses when I find a good one, so don't mind paying Whistles' type prices, so long as it makes me feel good.

Does anyone know a good place to find dresses that still make you feel gorgeous, without flashing too much (but not covering up so much you look matronly)?! I'm very much hoping it's not too much to ask. I only have the one Whistles dress, but do love their prints, if not their cuts any more....
Most of the dresses I've tried on this year have been plain, which can be lovely, but I would prefer a print.

Thanks very much.

Have you been into Jigsaw lately? They seem to have changed quite a lot within the last year or so - I've bought 3 dresses within the last few months that really work for my 40ish hourglass figure. And, joy of joys, they have sleeves!

Whistles is annoying me a bit lately - such high prices for so much polyester.

Whistles IS annoying lately, you're right!

Will browse Jigsaw tho. They are good of late.

No problem! I agree both re Whistles and Jigsaw, which has definitely improved recently. Unfortunately, whilst their patterned dresses are lovely, the one I tried was a loosish dress cinched with a matching belt, and I've always found that really unflattering on me. Will keep looking though....

& Other Stories and Cos have great dresses IMO, but definitely of a certain style which I think you either love or hate.

You've kind of described my body shape, so I'll say Reiss - I've bought a couple of their dresses in recent years that suit me in a similar way to my Whistles dresses.

I absolutely agree, Whistles has gone downhill unless you are 6 ft tall, stick thin and have a fashionable slouch :(
I am none of these things.
