I had been toying. I thought it would make me titty.
I espied a jigsaw one and tried on ready to HATE but its actually quite nice and good for whizzing to my overheated office..

i liked the dropped shoulder thing too

I've bought the same one, I bloody love it so warm and easy to wear. I looked at ponchos every and the Jigsaw one is definitely the best!

It's very inoffensive. I was expecting a polo neck, Aztec patterns, chunky job. I was expecting to give the Hmm but no, it's fine.

It's a definite muffin top excuser

it is, you could hide a sandwich about your person when on a boozy night out

I strayed and bought an Aztec one. Haven't worn it but took the label off. Off to the chazzer, it goes. But have an awesome merino wool navy wrap one which come almost to my ankles. I am trying to resist wearing with leggings but I fear it won't be long (in my defence j am on mat leave and Ds2 is only 2 months)

I know. But do I need any encouragement to eat the left over macaroni cheese at 5pm? NO

I am hoping that having 2 teenage boys in 10 years time will mean there is no such thing as leftovers, or indeed food and j will be starved into skinniness in my forties!

Meat for my three costs ten quid min per meal. Extra large chicken vanishes in one sitting

Yes, no surprise. I think my love of the local poncey butcher may wane significantly in years to come. Teeny tiny DD is not much better. Total carnivore at 2. Eats all the chicken and leaves the carbs. Am going to starve and be bankruot

you will need a GROUNDSHEET, not a poncho

Re the cocoon cape: I hear you. I bought something similar from George Davis' (Next, George at Asda, Per Una) ill-fated shop experiment, 'GIVe' about five years ago (the shop in Harrogate was closing, everything reduced).

I thought it would be warm and would not interfere with nice tops worn beneath it. How wrong I was. I looked like a malevolent beetle with navy blue wings secreted in a wing case. It soon became dusters.

My MiL gave me a poncho about three years ago. It went straight in the drawer and was donated to the Charity shop 8 months ago.

Turns out she was fashion forward and I'm an ungrateful tit.

Snort at malevolent beetle.

I always fancy a poncho. Pair of sunnies, poncho, autumn day, instant glamour, that's the dream. Damn you Pinterest.

I've said it before but every flipping year for the past 4 or 5 years I've bought a poncho. On the back of the dream, doncha know. Every flipping year I return. Make me look like a ahem matronly malevolent beetle.

But I do rather like the Jigsaw first link smacks hand from clicking buy

That jigsaw poncho is very very popular at my dc's school with the mothers. It is nice.

I also tried that cocoon thing on - I couldn't work out how bad I looked in it compared to the model. Wink

I've just bought a wool & cashmere mix poncho in Costco - lovely and a third of the price of the ones I've seen in the shops - not dared to wear it in front of my family yet though. They were being snapped up like hotcakes so I imagine everyone will be wearing them soon.
