I think I've just bought a fake.

Received my much anticipated Desigual dress this morning.

It looked a bit different to the photo I saw on ebay; colour is slightly different ( can be explained) , the transfers are not like those on my other Desigual clothes, duller and more enmeshed with fabric which is itself thinner than normal.

Googled the style code and it came up with an entirely different dress on more than one site.

I have phoned the HQ ( Desigual) and they are going to examine the product.

Has anyone else been sent counterfeit goods from OL sellers?

DD bought a Michael Kors bag online which turned out to be from a dodgy company in China! It was a definite fake so she contacted Action Fraud online then her bank.

They tried to trace the online business address but it had disappeared so after a few weeks the bank refunded her money thankfully. It was priced at about 20% discount to what MK usually sell at so it wasnt even an obvious huge bargain!

She had to give as much detail as possible including everything written on her packaging so dont chuck anything away.

Meant to say I've sent photos via email.

The more I look at it the more I'm certain it's a fake. It has a slit in the side and it isn't bar tacked or reinforced in any way.

It looks all wrong.

MK bags cost a fortune; I would have thought it was genuine if it was just 20 % cheaper.

Received an email from Desigual HQ. I forwarded photo of said dress; the label, packaging and decal ..
Received a reply and investigation number asking for a link to the seller's name etc.
Speaking to a colleague today( a solicitor) told me the first port of call should have been trading standards and interesting enough; the manufacturer who has the copyright ( Desigual); has a duty of care to ensure buyers are not sold counterfeits. It is in their best interest I suppose.
