Jack Wolfskin coat or similar waterproof "performance" coat jacket

I can't find the jacket that I saw in Cotswold the other day online but it's called Torrential Rain Jacket which is a 3 in 1 coat/ fleece/ jacket. The closest thing that I can find to it is in this link www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/jack-wolfskin-womens-mountain-creek-3-in-1-jacket-a2312058?id_colour=3561

Has anyone got anything similar that they'd like to recommend? Have you ever had to reproof it after putting it in the wash? How long has it lasted you so far?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a huge fan of 3 in 1 jackets but Jack Wolfskin is a good brand I think. I have Berghaus and Montane waterproofs, both of which are excellent and brands I would recommend.

I also have Rab insulated coats for the winter, that's a good brand too. If you trawl sites like Go Outdoors, they often have reviews.

This is glorious. The down jacket part is very warm and light, the waterproof outer is lined and durable. Have had it 1 year so far, looks like new, hoping it lasts another 10. When you wear both parts together it's like walking around in a weatherproof duvet. Not the cheapest option but I really do love it.

MY 16 year old son has a Jack Wolfskin parka and he loves it.
He is often out in the cold and rain and it is snug and has kept him dry so far He has is going into the 3rd winter season with it. I keep trying to nab it off him but he's having none of it!

Thanks for replies. How long are the parka type coats? Its just that unfortunately I'm only 5' 2" and longer lengths seem to swamp me. I also cycle and am worried about getting it stuck.

Ah.... in that case the one I linked to is prob not your best option - I'm a lanky so-and-so and it's well down to my knees, really not going to be great on a bike. D'oh.

The parka wouldn't be any good for cycling I'm afraid.

DS normal wears it to the ice rink several times a week, around ski resorts, walking in cold days, that sort of thing.

I'm dying for him to get bored with it because after all this time and the use its had it still looks good.

is it this one - not torrential but pouring? Grin

I love Jack Wolfskin and have a couple lots of their jackets. Warm and waterproof.

I did see that Allinafankie and wondered whether they have bought out the same model under a different name but it's definitely called Torrential Rain and the colour is different.

Finally found my coat! Berghaus Anford in green. It's a stronger green than it appears on-screen but it doesn't look out of place with the style of coat.

I always find berghaus better than other brands for accommodating boobs and belly without having ridiculously long sleeves or wide shoulders. It also manages not to swamp me, despite being longer than hip length, as it's dipped down towards the back.

JL link, as they have the best pics, though that's not where I've ordered mine from

Dobeedo, your jacket does come up in a search on the cotswold website, but is out of stock - looks like it's been sold off, so you might get lucky in a mid-season sale, if you find nothing else?

Thanks ouryve. I popped into town today and it was still there on sale. Smile

I'm glad you found your coat too.
