Do you buy two of the same thing?

If you really like it?

For example, two pairs of the same colour, same style of shoes?

I'm considering buying a second pair of identical boots, just in case these ones break.

When I found some jeans that actually fit me I bought two pairs in that cut. One darker blue the other more casual. And one size up for when I'm fat ????

This is the one I really, really like and contemplating if I should buy a backup:

Yes I dress quite plain. I have a certain pair of skinny jeans I love so bought 3 more pair. Then I tend to wear vest tops mainly. I own lots of the same black ones. It's was only yesterday I realised people probley think I don't change Grin

No but I often wish I had. Especially if it was a bargain. But how can you know you will love it and wear and wear it?

I got a great pair of Clarks ballet flats in suede, easy to wear, nice bright colour, leather so not nasty and sweaty, but £15 in the sale. Yes should've got 2 pairs, as I realised when they fell to pieces due to excessive wear 18 mo later.

I have two 'backups' of my absolute favourite top for when it wears out. I really love it, it'll be a sad day when they're all unwearable.

Jeans, definitely. If I find a well fitting, flattering pair of jeans I absolutely buy more than one pair.

I've been known to buy the same style shirt/top in different colours if it fits and flatters.

Oh yes, if I like something I buy one in each colour if I like the other colours - tops for work, casual tops etc, and if I find jeans or smart work trousers that fit well I get two. I don't duplicate shoes except running shoes though.

I hate that feeling of having something nice that gets worn out and not being able to find a replacement that's as good.

I suppose this approach works best if you're not too bothered about the latest fashions but feel you've found a look that works, or buy fairly classic staple items.

I once bought a duplicate for half price in the sale and kicked myself for being a mug the first time. But if I buy different colours there's always a favourite.
In the 80s I bought the same shoes in red and green (looooved the green ones) and wore a different colour on each foot. Someone asked me if I'd nicked them from the stand outside the shop.

Grin Sgt

Yep. Three pairs of skinny jeans. Identical.

red and green shoes - excellent! I so would have done that in the 80s but couldn't have afforded two pairs of shoes at the same time - now I could do that, I'm too old and boring..........on the other hand, good way to embarrass the kids Grin

I need to stop buying v similar things, like I have 3 black biker jackets, 2 pair of similar high heeled boots because I couldn't decide between them.

Yes.
I am very tall and when I find trousers which fit I buy at least one more pair.

I do this, Ihave a boxed pair of ankle boots from last winter for when my favourites eventually die

I loved the sandals I bought this summer and keep dithering whether to buy another pair in case they die next year. I would've bought them had they been in the sale but they're still full price (£80) so I have not but I think I am going to kick myself later and am still wobbling even more so thanks to this thread

I also have a black t shirt I love that I've never found a replacement for. I bought it in white as well at the time when I realised what a perfect fit/shape it was on me (it makes me look slimmer than any other t shirt I own) but the fabric didn't drape so perfectly. Some days I have contemplated taking the original to a dressmaker to see if they can make a copy (copies perhaps). Wonder how many ££ it would be. For a t shirt.

I have funny shaped feet so If I find a pair of shoes that fit I will buy multiple pairs! I have 2 pairs of the same trainers because I do the 24 hours thing between wearing to dry them out.

I do the same with jeans. Jeans are a bugger to find that fit.

Oh and dresses. If I find a dress that fits well and comes in different patterns I may have bought a couple of those too.

I'm not big into fashion and wear what suits.

I might have 7 pairs of DP Eden skinnies...

Not generally but when I noticed my best running shoes seemed to be getting low in stock in every website I bought some for back up!

I have several pairs of DP Eden skinnies, albeit in different colours. Wear them with one of my store of identical black Next t shirts and one of my identical pairs of black pumps. Sorted. I sometimes do feel the need to explain that I have actually changed. Smile

I have several identical pairs of my favourite skinny jeans.

Yes. I seem to have several duplicate H&M casual tops. I like them to be cut slouchy so grab them when I can.

Jeans definitely, its hard to find a flattering pair that fits well! Also makeup like lipsticks, just incase I lose the other one.

No, I can't do it! But I will buy a different colour or shade, just not exactly the same.

I often buy the same thing in a different colour. A flattering cut is har to find.

My sister has a tailor in China - she gets all her favourite clothes remade for her in a range of fabrics, it helps that she's in the industry though.
