Daytime Facial moisturiser or maybe oil ?

I was wondering...does anybody use a daytime facial oil rather than a cream moisturiser ? I really prefer oils as I feel that they don't clog my congested central zone as much.I happily use an oil at night time (BS Vit E) so, is there such a thing as a daytime oil? Would it be greasy under make up? Anybody have any experience?

I do. I have very sensitive skin and have found that, if I use almond or wheatgerm oil as a moisturiser, I can normally get away with sunscreen and a little make up on top. I don't like so-called facial oils because they have too many ingredients that irritate my skin.

I find it takes longer to be absorbed than a cream does but I just slap on some oil when I first get up then go and make a cuppa or something until it's sunk in.

I find my congested bit just doesn't want oil. It has plenty of it's own Grin Adding any oil = major grease fest.

I'm lucky in that my skin isn't sensitive but as Floisme says a lot of facial oils are full of essential oils that can be irritants to sensitive skin.

I do have thirsty mature skin with open pores on my nose, the legacy of my younger days ! I have never considered leaving the moisturiser off my central zone. You tend to think older woman= dry dehydrated skin.I may experiment.

Are you confusing dry (lacking oil) with dehydrated (lacking water)?

You can easily be oily and dehydrated, especially on your nose.

Sadly those pores aren't 'open', they are just being pores. They don't open or close, they just sit there. As you get old they start looking bigger as your skin loses some of the elasticity and scaffolding to keep them looking smaller.

I have quite an oily t-zone and dehydrated skin so for me, it's lots of water, an aha peel mask once a week and the application of a serum everywhere except my nose and cheeks. I too would love to find a way of not having a congested nose (this for me is the worst area) but despite using peels, acid toners, I can't eradicate the gunky white stuff from my nose. I shouldn't squeeze but it feels sooo good. Blush

Have you tried salicylic acid instead of AHA? It doesn't totally clear my nose but minimizes it massively. It's oil soluble so gets down in there, while the AHA is water soluble and better for dry skin.

Hi

Tried Burts Bees toner and it made things worse. The AHA peel that I use is excellent on most of my face just doesn't do anything for my nose.

Are there any salicylic acid products that you recommend?
