You need those little footsie things, but even they can sometimes be seen. Or go down the popsock route, which is what I tend to do now for work (only with trousers, obvs).

I mean the tiny ones, that look like the very bottom bit of a pair of tights, if that makes sense. They are nude and very thin. The ones you've got sound more like little sock things.

I was wondering this just the other day OP. Had a google and thought these looked promising.

only they didn't have the black ones in stock and they are rubbish and show anyway!

Yeah, they're not cheap are they? I'm tempted though, I just can't do the sockless thing.

Ballet flats are so impractical - they fall off your feet, provide no foot support or cushioning, and are stinky. I wish they'd go out of fashion.

Sorry OP, no helpful suggestions unless you want to go down the ballet-Croc route - at least they're washable!

agree with you Violet but almost everything I wear in summer needs those style 'socks'- I wear cropped or cigarette trousers to work every day and either flats or loafers or brogues- but all with the 'no sock' look...
and don't even get me started on losing them in the washing machine.....

I wear them without socks. Can walk for a couple miles easily once "broken in"!

Report
CrystalMcPistol · 10/08/2015 16:48

I can't do that, my feet start to feel sweaty and then they get blisters.

SuperFlyHigh · 10/08/2015 16:49

you can see them with footsies…

i tend to wear ankle highs or knee highs

i see a woman at my station who wears her black ballerinas with black footsies and it just looks odd in my opinion.

Ah. Forgot. Lived abroad at one point - the magic ingredient - baby powder!! Not too much. Sprinkle on bathroom floor (DH hates it!) walk on it. Rub foot ontop of other foot and vice versa to ensure light cover.
And walk!
Don't miss top just above toes orbs like or heel!

Ps I buy a size or half up in the summer.
And Russell and Bromley do plain children's ones in size 39 if you have small ish feet!

I wear the footsie socks back to front, so toes at the heels, which seems to work for most ballet pumps

Those flesh-lacy (bleugh!) Primark ones are good- you're looking for ones with that gel/silicone stuff on the heel so they stay on. They're v like these Pretty Polly ones I was paying £5 a bloody pair for last summer! I wear black Calvin Klein ones from HoF with black ballet pumps; they're more like sock material so I think they let my feet breathe a bit more (probs balls) but mostly pay the premium because they're low cut enough that you can't see them so much and have the jelly bit.

Pringle.

They're extra low and have silicone grips on the heel to keep them in place. I always find them in TK Maxx and stock up. They don't make my feet sweaty like the lacey type ones either.
