Too Old For Nike Air Max?

Is there such a thing? If there is, what age would be too old for Nike Air Max?

For sports or walking/running, never. To wear all the time with anything, I'd guess around 25.

Sketchers are better.

I wear trainers as standard wear and I'm 40. Too many painful spots in the body to wear something that looks good but does nothing for comfort.

I have a Skechers but they're painful. I think because of the wedge style.

My comfiest pair is a pair of Adidas from years ago. I don't even know the style.

I prefer New Balance trainers, personally. I wouldn't see the Nike ones as ones that should be worn out (if you aren't exercising).

I would have to be paid a lot of money to wear Sketchers.

I have black Nike Roshe and am 45. Not owned trainers other than Converse for years, but they are so comfortable and look fine with skinnies and with skirts.

I like these looks and have worn similar combinations, although obviously I don't look anywhere near as stylish!

I've just bought an all black pair. I'm 46 and wearing them today with a skirt.

I tried New Balance on but found them clunky and nowhere near as comfortable as the Nikes. DD1 (who also has Nikes) calls the NB ones Lego Man Shoes.

I also tried the Skechers ones on, after so many recs on here, and despite my reservations about how ugly they are. I didn't find them at all comfortable. I 'might' have succumbed, despite the ugliness, if they felt nice - but they didn't.

I would say, depending on your style,that over 35 and it looks too try hard. I personally think early thirties is really the limit and then you are pushing it. I am not a fan of the trainers/skate shoes look though. They are signposts for being a past it fashion victim.

Crusty middle aged people trying to pull off the yoof look is tragic. Very reminiscent of Janet Street Porter in her middle years. It ain't fooling anyone.

Oh don't be so ridiculous. A pair of jeans or a skirt and a pair of trainers can be worn by anybody, from age 2 to age 102. It's nothing to do with trying to be, 'Down with the yoof' or, 'past it' or a, 'fashion victim.'

I looked a lot at what people were wearing whilst on holiday this week. The middle aged women who looked 'tragic' were the ones wearing work wear-esque dresses and court shoes, whilst tottering around museums etc.

You don't have to wear work-esque clothes as an alternative.

I think they do look ridiculous unless you are going down the gym. In my view trainers should be worn only for that intended purpose.

They are vile,clumpy, tacky items and are better worn by the very youthful until they have made all their sartorial mistakes and go onto develop style.

I'm 26 and I only wear trainers (Nike, converse, vans etc). I don't like any other shoes as I find them uncomfortable.

I think there are many lovely styles and it's very individual. What mine is is irrelevant given the context.

I just think trainers look hideous and like anoraks/wetsuits are strictly practical clothing and best worn for their intended purpose.
