Does anyone own an Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder?

And if so do you like it? I've been umming and ahhing over them for ages. At first I thought it was like High Beam in powder form, and as I have High Beam I didn't bother, but having read more is it a more subtle, all over the face thing?

I so want to try this but can't justify it at the moment.

It's a kind of light diffusing powder, goes all over the face not just in highlighter spots like High Beam.

Get it and come back and tell me about it! Grin

I have the palette and its ok, yes it's fairly subtle. I prefer my highlight to be seen from space Grin

Has anyone tried Mary Lou manizer?

Now that one is a proper highligrer, want to try that one too!

Oooh, yes I want the Mary Lou one as well, but as that is definitely a highlighter I will have to resist until I've finished High Beam. I have two bottles as I misplaced one and asked for another for Christmas. Oops.

I did think about the palette but it doesn't have any of the colours I was considering. Pfft. I wish the samples Space NK are offering at the moment were better. That would have definitely swung it for me! Grin

I've got Mary Lou, it's lovely. It's a soft golden champagne, very glowy so you need to use a light hand for subtle or just load it on for outer space visibility! It can be used as an eyeshadow. It's a huge pan, so will last for yonks.

I haven't got an Hourglass powder, but have got Nars Light Reflecting pressed powder, which is a similar deal and is great. I use it as an all over setting powder, gives a lovely glow but isn't sparkly.

I have Guerlain Meteorites' does a similar thing. Little balls of loveliness :)

I have it, and have 'hit pan' (get me!) so have obviously used it a fair bit. TBH though it just ended up being my go to 'light dusting of powder over foundation' compact. I treated myself to some Charlotte Tilbury things a while back, one of which being a powder compact, so it's since been relegated to my 'bits I don't want to throw away' box and i'd sort of forgotten about it. It's a nice finishing powder that doesn't give that 'dead flat' look, but I won't be repurchasing. It's a bit of luxury but nothing that can't be found for less... actually speaking of which, everyone RUN to wilkos and buy yourselves an essence twist-up gel eye pencil. Better for tight-lining that the bobbi brown gel pots AND my beloved C Tilbury eye pencil (in that I don't cry when I have to sharpen it every two days or so...). Result!

I've hovered over buying the Mary loumanizer a few times but ended up with the Becca highlighter in champagne pop and its amazing.

Hmm. Interested in the Nars now as it's cheaper and although I've only ever owned one Nars product I love it like my first born.

Is spamming one's own wares permitted?

I love The Balm's Maryloumanizer...I use both as highlighter and as eye shadow.

You terrible lot. Stop tempting me into buying a new highlighter! No, no, no! Grin

I think spamming one's own wares is not permitted, but it was prefaced with an opinion, so I'm on the fence, especially as there was an alternative recommendation.

Caved and bought Marylou, from eBay though so it doesn't count Hmm

Actually, MsBo, I'm pretty sure online purchasing doesn't count at all.

Callycatsy's, "little ball's of loveliness" has me aching to swipe my credit though..

I have the Hourglass ambient blusher, it's the best I've ever had.

As a 'mum' I don't really need beauty advice. Predominantly because I'm a 'woman' first.

Noooooo! Not the blusher! I'm trying to resist the blusher! What are you people doing!? Actually, the Max Factor ones that have a similar look are nice. I have one that I use every day. I haven't used the Hourglass one though I can't really compare.

One review I read said that the Hourglass powder did what the little balls of loveliness don't achieve, so now I'm even more conflicted.

I did look at your blog, editors - but stopped at 'Mumspiration' - is that like perspiration? You look great (though I suspect you know that already!)

Before I started this thread it was a toss up between the powder and the blush and I decided against the blush because of the Max Factor one, but now I'm torn!

Shopping on Cult Beauty absolutely doesn't count, for example. My latest non-purchase should be waiting for me when I get home Grin I'm not totally sure that shopping in shops counts if you pay by card, either. I see no exchange! They're just giving me things!

I am not massively impressed with hourglass - I have the blusher and it is alright.

I have the balm one, the charlotte tilbury one and have just ordered the becca champagne pop. I think I have an addiction.
