Best jeans and trouser for pair shapes

At the moment I have given up wearing trousers and jeans as they all look awful on me. If I go for high waisted jeans the make my bum look massive, the pocket only goes a short way down, think loads of bum under pocket. If I go for low waisted jeans I have tummy overhang. I'm not huge, 5ft5, 8st10 and a size 10 bottom but recently whenever I have tried jeans and trousers on I have felt huge. I would love to lose a good half stone but quickly break every vague attempt at dieting I start, cannot get into the right frame of mind at all. I have been doing a fitness blend work out on youtube, but I would love to know if any similar shaped ladies have had any joy. Measurement wise I am about 28 inch waist and 37 inch hips and I am what you might call long waisted, my bum comes down very low.

Since having a baby I struggle with trousers. I've found the Dorothy Perkins Eden jeggings very comfortable and they look better than leggings. Also Wallis skinny jeans that are more like jeggings (I can't wear skinny jeans- just don't fit). I find everything else digs into my crotch (think my pelvis has widened in a weird way) or I am between sizes. I'm a 12 roughly, 5'6" and 65kg ish. Am also looking for trousers that fit and are comfortable!

I've got into Gap skinnies since having DS and am most definitely pear shaped and larger than you!

Peacocks slim fit. You cannot be more pear shaped than me, and these actually fit my waist, bum and thunder thighs. And they're £14!

That's a good tip- but there aren't a lot of Peacocks around- I'll have to look out for them!

I am a similar size to you OP - 8st 7 at just under 5ft5 though slightly more pronounced pear (24w, 35h). I love gap true resolution skinny jeans. I have lost weight and gained muscle with a combination of running (longish distance) and strength training (I also use fitness blender) and the odd spin class.

Glad to find more people like me! Will be trying the shops mentioned above.

And YY to finding that trousers and jeans dig into my crotch lately :/

I don't want to thread hog but as we have several pear shapes together, what about trousers? I want some casual cropped ones but whenever I've tried them on they're not the most flattering!

I'm currently wearing size 8 Next compact cotton capri trousers - waist is 28in & hips 28in; no belt loops & waist a bit big for me but they don't slip down & produce the full nappy look that most trousers too big on the waist do. Can anyone advise on ASOS own brand trouser sizing - they seem to have measurements for Petite, Tall & Maternity trousers but the standard sizing just gives comparison from UK to international sizes so no idea what standard waist & hip measurements are. I haven't tried trousers from them before but as they go right down to UK size 4 I assume they do major vanity sizing - is that right?

levi's demi curve are good. The small of my back has a pronounced curve because my arse sticks out so much and they actually fit my hips and waist without the gapey back thing

ASOS own brand not vanity sized IMO, a little the other way if anything.

I have roughly the same hip and waist measurements as the OP, but slightly taller/heavier, and I swear by Whistles skinnies (expensive but they are a perfect fit) and Topshop mom jeans. I need a 12 bottom though, my bum is massive!

Thanks for the tip on ASOS sizing, Amber. I guess the small sizes are for teenagers.
Levi's bold curve are possibly my most flattering jeans, but they are somewhat low-rise which is impractical at weekends - not good for cycling. Last winter I liked Gap 1969 high waisted skinny cords but the sizing was odd. I find the reviews on the US Gap site often helpful & used them to decide what size to order & got the right size first time.
