Anyone had an email about the re-launch of Duo, which will be called Ted&Muffy Hmm

Hope it's all going to be better and not worse as I can't find boots to fit anywhere else.

Can anyone get on?

Their email to me said as a VIP customer I'd get the details soon (enough!)

I know they always launch new boots in August so guess it's still in progress.

I wonder if they have sold out to someone and it's all changing?

Christ, it sounds like a poncy pet shop. What on earth were they thinking?!

Found this in an article from 2006:
"Duo was born 30 years ago as a shop in Bath where husband and wife team Ted and Muffy Maltby sold Italian shoes."

And there appears to be a Ted and Muffy website that looks lik duo type stuff:

Good Lord woman- you've cracked it. That is them.
I hope that is not this season's offering as there's not much there.

Looks even more expensive too

Grin It's all a bit odd. Just can't understand it from a marketing POV: Duo as a brand seemed to be 'open to everyone' (price aside) iyswim, but this is like it's trying to be Russell & Bromley for the over 80's or something. And apologies to Ted and Muffy, but I think the name may be a big mistake.

What on earth? Silly name.

Mind you, would never buy from Duo anyway after my friend's boots fell apart and she had to pay £9 to send them back special delivery - even though there was a Duo shop within 30 seconds walk of our office.

Ted and Muffy? Oh. Dear. Do they not have friends?

I can't fault the quality. Have had about 6 pairs over the years and sold 3 pairs on Ebay for good prices, simply because I went off the style. I have narrow calves so this will be bad news for me if they stop producing the range and hike the cost.

Jees.

I get that there's inflation but the boots are nearly 3x the price they were when Duo became popular.

Just seems like they're becoming frumpier and greedier every year. There's a couple of 'ok' pairs but £275 for some flat boots is crazy.

Maybe their previous business model wasn't working and they have decided to reduce the choice and increase the prices.

The name is hilarious!

I can just hear myself saying I got my boots at Ted and muffy's. No I will never be saying that.

I've had the email too and I'm rather worried - Duo are the only place I can find long boots for fit my narrow calves

The Bootmakers website looks interesting if all else fails, but their prices are rather steep:
