Morning makeup regime

Talk me through yours. Being realistic I've got ten minutes (two small children), although I COULD get up earlier.

I've not bothered with makeup for about 3 years, aside from a bit of mascara and that maybelline eyebrow mascara.

I'm babbling. What should I do if time is limited? Any product tips?

My face takes me 12mins, I've times it so DH can't moan I take hours getting ready!
Double wear foundation-I blend with my fingers
Concealer
Powder-I like a super matte finish
Wee bit bronzer for contouring
Blush
Brows
Neutral smokey eye
Lots of mascara-usually 3 coats
Lipstick
The end result is a very natural day/work make up.

BB cream, cream blush, mascara and tinted lipgloss. About three minutes - you can do it all with your fingers if need be.

Get your eyebrows threaded and tinted regularly; eyelashes tinted too if you like.

I find the better my skin is the less I have to wear so a skincare regime will save you time and money on makeup in the long run.

Every day - eyeliner pencil (Mac/Urban Decay/Essence/Kiko) and Max Factor mascara
If I need it - Boots BB cream and/or concealer (Urban Decay 24/7 or Bobbi Brown)
If I'm making an effort - the above plus cream blusher (currently Rouge Bunny Rouge, also like Becca), bronzer (Becca), cream eyeshadow (Kiko, Topshop, Benefit, Maybelline), lipstick (By Terry, Chantecaille)

Given how little I actually use, I have a ridiculous amount of makeup... Blush

I'm down to a fine art too but it takes about 10-15 mins and there is a difference between slapping on quickly and taking a lot of care. My absolute minimum on a non-working, but have-to-go out day, would be:

moisturiser
sun block
foundation & under eye concealer
mascara- lots of
eye pencil
blusher
lippy

If I'm doing a good job then I add eyeshadow- eg Urban Decay basics and eyebrow powder- and several more coats mascara.

As this is make up, not skincare - I do primer (over sunblock), tinted moisturiser/BB cream, concealer if I think I need it, powder.

Takes about 7 minutes.

Most days, I just do BB cream and a bit of eyeliner. If I want a bit more than that, I have BB cream, smoky eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, Benetint, lipstick.

I use the Boots Botanics BB cream, which is v good and often on offer.

After shower, I apply body lotion all over. Then deodorant. Then:

Serum
Moisturiser (leaving to sink in whilst I make a pot of coffee)
Primer
Eye primer (one that takes red out of skin, so not always followed by eyeshadow)
Foundation or tinted moisturiser
Under eye concealer
Cream blusher
Highlighter cream
Gel eyeliner

I then dry hair and let all the above settle.

Then check foundation. Add more if necessary
Concealer
Curl eyelashes / mascara
Bronzer
Lip liner / lip gloss
Very small amount of powder blusher if needed after lips done

Done. Eyeshadow always added for a night out.

I've got it down to a fine art now, it takes about 15 minutes in total, max. After my shower, primer, a slick of eyeliner, eye lash curlers, and mascara. Go off and dry hair, then eat banana, drink coffee, get DC up. Then apply foundation (with fingers, am lazy) and blusher while straightners are heating up, then straighten hair quickly. Lastly clean teeth and apply powder quickly.

I don't take time to apply any of it, just slap it on and go Grin Extra powder (that Max Factor Facefinity powder thing) applied during the day to keep the shine off, concealer and lipstick if I have a meeting or training.

I have two small dc also and my routine takes no time at all. I use:

laura mercier tinted moisturiser
Benefit concealer esp under eyes
Mac blusher
Nears yard mascara
Sometimes a bit of eyeliner
Tinted lip salve

A night out when it happens involves a lot more mascara (dior) foundation (chanel vitalumiere) L'Oréal blusher eyeshadow (usually urban decay) and loads of kohl. And wine. And good tunes. I need a night out now!

Star Foundation
Rimmel wake me up concealer
Mineral Powder
Rimmel Bronzer
MAC blusher
MUA highlighter
Eyebrow pencil
Eyeshadow

Umm, wash face, moisturise, make sure my eyebrows are pointing in roughly the right direction. I don't think you should do any more than that. Anything else is surely up to you.

Report
wiltingfast · 24/07/2015 17:07

ok 2 dc here too. V basic makeup routine.

Estee Lauder double wear light foundation

Eye shadow from a massive Urban Decay palette someone was kind enough to give to me. 2-3 blended

Mascara

Lippy

... I'd say takes me less than 5m. My foundation is great, gives wonderful smooth even coverage (have rosy cheeks). I say put a bit of time in finding a good one that suits you. Get samples. I spent a bit of time on this about 2y ago after a dreadful Nars one that aged me about 10y and have never looked back!

The UD palette is also brilliant as I'm not rooting around for different fiddly Mac containers.

If I'm going more casual but still want to feel groomed I use Boots BB cream instead of full on foundation and it is also marvellous.

Report
chiruri · 24/07/2015 17:13

Quick/light would be:
Concealer (damn you, adult acne)
Powder foundation (I'm currently using Bare Minerals)
Blusher/bronzer
Eyebrow pencil
Eyebrow thickening wand from Benefit
Mascara

I need the eyebrow stuff and mascara because I'm very blonde and they're invisible otherwise. This is basically a bare-faced but put together look, and takes me about 10 minutes.
A full face would include liquid foundation, highlighter, eyeshadow and eyeliner, but that's only if I'm going somewhere special.
